For all you pizza aficionados, there’s a topnotch pizza joint located on 2nd Street in Battambang. If ya wanna try some mighty fine pizza, even better than Rusty Keyhole's in Kampot, then give BTB pizza a drive around the block.
Gave BTB Pizza a taste test with wife Pip, who normally doesn't like pizza. Different reaction to BTB’s fare; she devoured it. Even begged for another pizza. Our neighbors and fellow teachers who tagged along both loved the pizzas too.
Very nice base, perfectly cooked, topped with some yummy garlicky tomato sauce. The eatery’s ambiance is somewhat tacky and cramped, but the pizzas’ quality more than compensates.
BTB Pizza is a one man operation. The expat Frenchman, chef/waiter/bartender/dishwasher Michael opens at 6PM and only makes a certain number of pizzas a day. We got there 8:30 PM and he only had the fixings for 4 pizzas left. Once we left, after scarfing down 4 delectable pizzas, around 9PM, he was calling it a night.
So be advised: arrive early before they’re sold out. The early bird catches the pizza.
