“Wonderful to see rice drying and people praying”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 22, 2013

The temple wasn't much to see but what was interesting was that the local farmers were drying the rice on the court yard, kids were playing games with their thongs and people were praying in the prayer hall.

“"Tourism police" spoil it”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 16, 2013

I've been travelling Cambodia for 3 months and Battambang is the first place to have "tourism police" stationed outside of attractions forcing you to pay fees to see them. The fee for the tiny ruins of Ek Phnom is $3!! (a fee which is no where to be found in the city's own, self-published guide book).

It takes less than 10 minutes to explore the entire ruin. (to put it into perspective, $20 gets you an entire DAY at Angkor Wat...the small pile of rocks at Ek Phnom cost nearly 20% of what Angkor Wat costs!)

Save you money and skip these ruins. Sadly, I'd have to say the same for the entire city of Battambang. It's overrated, corrupted and not worth it.

Wow, I can't believe my eye that I could visit the gorgeous gorgeous temples in Battambang. Highly recommend for the tourist who are looking for the the great mystery temples in the ancient times.
