“Great friendly top class resort in battambang”
Reviewed April 22, 2013 via mobile

We stayed there during the recent hot weather . Some days reached 46 degrees and the pool was very refreshing. Tours and tuk tuks were easily organised by the owners . And we were even driven by the owners when one wasnt available. The beautiful gardens and green surroundings made the heat bearable. Dont forget to do the taste tour if you can . We found it excellent. All the staff are very friendly and we enjoyed their company around the bar .

This place does many things right. It is 5 star luxury for what you can get in Battambang. These are some of the little parks I enjoyed while staying there:
First of all, personal touch and care. The owners (Jan and Phary) come and personally welcome all guests which is lovely.
Excellent kitchen, they source products from their own garden for their cooking hence their food tastes fresh and healthy. They even grow their own rice! Their fresh spring rolls are awesome, so,e of the best we had in Cambodia.
Creative and modern design, in their rooms and in their beautiful tropical lush garden (and I'm not even a garden person but I can appreciate how beautiful it is!)
Lovely swimming pool and pond. A few rooms overlook the pond, the one we stayed at did and it was very nice to wake up to that view. The rooms were also spacious, clean and comfortable.
Great value for money.
I would highly recommend this place, you will not be disappointed. And their staff were lovely too, they even remember what type of coffee we liked in the morning!
Just be aware it is in a rural area, not in town but that was fine with us because they have free tuc tucs in the evening. If you want to go to town outside the free tuc tuc time, it's only $3 American. It's only 10 or 15 mins away. They also provide free bicycles if you want to go for a ride (early morning is beautiful as you can see the sunrise and it's the best time to go for a bike ride). You a.so feta glimpse of the local village and their life, kids going to school and waving hello, people going to work, Buddhist monks chanting by the river, really worth doing.

Room Tip: The ones that are classified as lake rooms have a view of the lovely pond and a deck.

Lovely resort and lovely owners. This place has charm in spades. The quality of the rooms, grounds, service and the food is outstanding. The owners genuinely care about their guests and will go out of their way to see that you are happy. The trips and tours arranged are unique and the great value for money. This is the only place I would stay in Battambang.

Lovely new resort with wonderful owners. Being small with 4 extra large romantic lake rooms and 6 large garden rooms you are individually looked after by all excellent staff. The cambodian staff and owner all can speak lots of languages. Some were having lessons every week at the resort in french while we were there. Once you arrive all local tours are arranged with knowledgeable guide/drivers. D'ont miss the the taste tours of an afternoon. Found it a great place to relax and take in the real cambodian way of life. The pool and gardens are already well established even though it has only been open for 1 year. Love the rice paddy and vegetable garden they have to grow some of their own produce. The gardens have already attached lots of wildlife ;many birds squirrels frogs lizards geckoes and even a bat that had decided to make a light fitting his home. To the annoyance of the staff .

Room Tip: All rooms are very private

a bit out of town but worth the effort. the rooms were clean, modern and comfortable. the staff were always pleasant and chatty. i've never stayed in a resort before and i found it hard to have everything taken care of in one place. accomm, food, tours, laundry etc. but i honestly think they offered a great service at reasonable prices (probably more than 'town' rates but worth it not to have to deal with all the hassle). fantastic pool! Thanks BTB resort.

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights in February, on our way to Sihanoukville, and loved it so much, we changed our plans so we could stay here again on our way back to Siem Reap.

What can I say about the resort that's not already been said?... not much! The resort is located about 10 minutes outside Battambang. This is great because it's very quiet. We were picked up from the bus by the resort tuk tuk driver, which made it really easy. When we arrived at the resort, our luggage was taken to our room, while we were offered a complimentary cocktail, while Jan (the owner) explained all about the resort and the area, and made recommendations for day trips.

It's a beautiful resort, very well laid out amongst lovely gardens, and with only 10 rooms. We stayed in a lakeside room, and this was very private and had it's own balcony/ terrace overlooking the lake. The room was gorgeous, very clean, spacious and furnished really well. We had a fridge, safe, tea/ coffee, complimentary water, and small mini-bar. The rooms don't have TVs and this is something we liked a lot! Who wants to go to Cambodia and watch TV?

The resort has a lovely bar, and a separate restaurant upstairs, but you can eat dinner in either, although breakfast & lunch is served downstairs. The bar serves lots of fresh juices, tea/coffee, beer, wine and cocktails. The mojitos are excellent!

We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner at the resort every day, so we got to sample many of the dishes on the menu, and they were all delicious. Our favourites were the mango chicken, chicken & cashew nuts, and the lamb (was on the specials). The resort grows it's own brown rice, and this was the best rice we had in Cambodia.

There's a beautiful salt water pool, but be careful because the tiles are very slippy. I know this because the first time I went into the pool, I slipped on the tiles, landed on my bum and had a huge bruise for days.

Service at Battambang is superb. Your hosts, Jan and Paris are very friendly and helpful. We did the Bamboo train/ Bat cave tour, the circus trip and booked the bus to Sihanoukville and Siem Reap, and this was all organised by the resort. They made everything very easy. Our tuk tuk driver was called Chin Chin and we would highly recommend him for any tour. He's very informative, and will go above and beyond to help you enjoy your trip. We have videos of both the Bamboo train and the Bat cave on our blog at www.allpackedup.com and would definitely recommend both of these.

One of the loveliest touches was when we returned to the resort for our second stay, and found a bottle of the wine that we always ordered, on our bed with a note saying "Thank you for choosing to return to Battambang".

Battambang resort has only been open for a year, and it's amazing what they have achieved in that time. It offers excellent value for money, but I think as more people find out about it, it will be fully booked for most of the year, so book it now!

Our top tip:
Once you get there, you will want to enjoy the resort so don't book too many activities!

Room Tip: Lakeside room
