Simple, clean. Good location. Staff drives you crazy with questions about "your plans for today". Tuktuk driver of the hotel is a awful guy. He really gets on your nerves. If the they would been a little bit more relaxed, I would recommend this place.

We stayed there for 4 nights, very nice room with beautiful furniture and ok bathroom. Fan room for $10, with aircon would be $15. The location is perfect in the center, but quiet in the night. Hotel staff is very, very nice (we got fresh fruits and two bottles of water every day) and tuk-tuk tour they recommend was quite good :)
There is just one negative point, it was not clean - our linen seemed not to be new when we arrived and the never changed it. But if you stay less days than we it should be ok!

+ Location
+ Friendly staff
+ Tours
+ Big rooms

- cleanliness

Room Tip: 4th floor at the corner, big window to street

We chose to break up our trip from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap with two nights in Battambang, Cambodia. It's pretty much in the middle of nowhere, nothing much to do in the town aside from a cooking class and eating Khmer curries, and the all important bamboo railway - which is the main reason for our stop over. This hotel was amazingly cheap, near new, very modern and comfy, we could hardly believe our luck when we were quoted $11 AUD a night, and could've opted for an $8 room if we didn't want aircon! Staff were very friendly, family run business at the time of our visit, close to everything, not that Battambang has much to offer, but an easy stroll to restaurants etc and a tuk tuk ride away from the bamboo railway. If heading to Siem Reap, would highly recommend taking the slow boat up the river to Siem Reap, approx 6-8 hrs, but the scenery you see on the way is nothing short of amazing. Take some snacks for the trip and have enough space left on the memory card of your camera!

I took a tuk tuk here based on the review in Lonely Planet. You can't beat the location - it's close to the nicest restaurants, market, etc and in a well lit street yet quiet at night. The staff were lovely and I would recommend it. Excellent value for money.

We were originally planning to stay at The Bus Stop, but we got there and it was closed, so our tuk tuk driver took us to Lux. We are always a bit dubious about this kind of thing but I remember reading some good reviews so we went.

We got the last room available so maybe this is why ours wasn't quite as good as other peoples. The room itself was beautiful - nice bed, great decor and looked much more like a hotel room. We paid $11 ($1 discount via our tuk tuk driver) and this was excellent value. The only thing was that all the other people with the same room type as us got a fridge, which we didn't, and also our bathroom didn't have a sink - very odd. We asked about the sink and they said our room type (single room - means with one double bed) doesn't come with a sink... But in their leaflet the single room shows a photo of a bathroom with sink and everyone else seemed to have one. We weren't too bothered but it was a bit annoying.

We had a few ants climbing up our wall at one point which was annoying, but there weren't too many and they were very small so it wasn't such a big deal.

Location was great and right in the centre (although its very small!) Hotel seemed very safe and secure.

Staff were good and friendly but seemed very pushy in terms of wanting us to buy tickets and hire tuk tuks from them. These seemed pretty overpriced. For example, our bus ticket to Phnom Penh cost us $3.50 from 'Center Cafe' (great place!) but Lux quoted us $7 for exactly the same thing.
