“shrimp curry was tasty but tourist price”
Reviewed May 17, 2013

This restaurant is on the Restaurant Rd, where most of the restaurants gather in Nyaung U. There's a big sign on by the road so you may be able to find it easily.
I had shrimp curry which was very tasty. It was more expensive than any other curry in the restaurant. I remember it costed around 5K kyat, about 5US$, Yes, tourist price.
We 2 persons had each dish with 2 soft drinks and costed 9K kyat, It cost as same as in Japan!!! I wish I could find cheaper restaurant but it may be difficult in Bagan... most of restaurants tourists can find are more or less touristic.
One waiter was quite rude. When we asked for change, he got angry. That's why I put low point on service.

“In the shadow of the stupa”
Reviewed February 19, 2013

Pyi Wa is one of numerous establishments vying for your business in Restaurant Rd and located close to Aroma 2. Don't be put off by the sign that advertises every sort of cuisine from Italian to Myanmar, as is common in Restaurant Rd, or by the menu that you can flick through outside that runs to many pages. This is basically a Chinese restaurant, serving good food with attentive, smiling service. What the interior lacks in ambience is more than made up for by the myriad flickering candles the restaurant's staff set out around the perimeter of the adjacent stupa.
Wish we'd been in Nyaung U for longer, so that we could have made a return visit.
