“Lovely property lovely managed. NO INTERNET.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 25, 2013

Small group of rooms and bungalows. Managed by the owner and her husband, in a very friendly way. Hot water in room is scarce, you cannot finish your shower as you would at home. No TV, no internet in the whole hotel. Prices are very convenient considering these lacks.
They can rent you a bicycle and within a very short distance you are in the centre of Nyaungshwe. Very nice swimming pool and breakfast area is lovely.

This is a really lovely place to stay in Nyuang Shwe. The rooms in the new wing is not as special as what we heard about the bungalows, but they are fine, with a small deck where you can sit and enjoy the coolness of the night. The breakfast is excellent, we loved the pancakes. It is possible to rent bicycles and go for a ride in the countryside, which is really nice. All in all a very nice and quiet place

Room Tip: Go for the bungalows

Inle is a magic place!
But better stay in Nyaungswe for sleeping as you will have plenty of little restaurants and things to do.
Princess garden has really cute little bungalows facing the mountain!
The owner is really helping, the breakfast is really good, swimming pool is nice to relax.
You won't find better place! and the rooms are only at $50usd... better book long in advance.

Perfect planning on inle:
1 day on the lack (1boat for 4 pax 18000kyat) ( try to avoid souvenir shop, over price, not good qlty and boring)
1day riding bike around (red mountain winery, spring water, villages)

**Bring some warm clothes, always cold in the morning on the boat - evening also!

We stayed here for three nights. The room was lovely and the bathroom well appointed with a proper hot shower. I was very excited by the complimentary drinks that arrived when we got back each afternoon - a really nice touch. The location is not central but its a small town so easy to get anywhere. The pool is also a treat after a hot day sightseeing. Great value for money - make sure you book ahead!

The bungalow was quite lovely set amongst beautiful gardens. The breakfasts were good. I had a hard time with no fresh milk but then we were in Myanmar. The owner (the lady) was fabulous and so helpful. Her staff of girls and a boy were delightful. We had a ceiling light and two bedside lamps so no complaints at all. Yes, the overall lighting was dim, but it was easy to read in bed. We heard no construction noise at all the last week in January. There was a fridge in the room with very reasonably priced water, sodas and beer. Hot water was delivered in a carafe daily for tea and coffee (provided). It has the advantage of no traffic and lovely private sitting areas. The hotels in town were full of fumes and dust when we ventured in to check them out. The hotel is situated just a hundred yards or so from Green Chile restaurant which was very good if you ordered the right food (we had one bad night and one great night). Our favorite was the Italian restaurant just beyond which had great cocktails and pizza but avoid the pasta.

Room Tip: Pay the extra for a bungalow if they are available. They were fully booked all the nights we were t...

A few days ago we arrived at the hotel a little earlier than expected. Since the room wasn't clean yet we sat at a table in the breakfast area. We got a plate of fruit and a tea for the wait. We decided to walk around and when we retourned we were shown to our room. The only thing one might not like: there was no TV and they do not offer wifi as well (But If you have been here already you know that a hotel with wifi doesn't mean that you have Internet access).
Otherwise the room was perfectly clean, with a huge and comfortable bed and a rainy shower (you know, those that have a huge shower head).
Right after we made ourselves comfortable they brought us a freshly squeezed mixed fruit juice (You get something like that every day when you come "home"!!). The English of the owner is pretty good and everbody is unbelievably nice so you won't have any problems they can't help you solve.
The breakfast is very good especially the pancake (and you can order a second one just so you know ;) ).
Since we were unlucky with the weather I can't really say anything about it but it looked clean.
You can rent bikes for 1000 kyat a day (looked perfectly good) and make phonecalls for free. So if you still have to reserve One org more hotels the cheapest way is to do it from here.
Something few might find difficult: The hotel is at located at the end of the city but! it's still only a 7 minute walk to the market.

Book ahead! It's the best place at Inle for reasonable money (38$/night for double room)

Please stay at Princess Garden Hotel. This is a great little hotel run by some of the most wonderful people you will meet, anywhere in the world. Why are they so wonderful? 1) Their personalities: they have that great Myanmar combination of being happy, engaging and brutally honest (e.g. they don't give recommendations flippantly, which we appreciated); Their sense of family: they have a group of young village girls living with them and to watch the way they share meals together and care for one another is something special; 3) Their humanity: they were about to donate a water sanitisation unit to a local orphanage when we were there. Furthermore, this place is a bargain, the breakfast is amazing and the bungalows are very comfortable. If you get a chance, hire a bike and ride to the Red Mountain winery at sunset. Why would you stay anywhere else?
