“Very good choice for Inle Lake!!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 21, 2012

I stayed in the Princess Garden hotel in Oct 2012 for 2 nights, and I totally recommend this place.
I suggest you to take their airport pick up service, as Heho airport is really really far from Nyaungshwe (lake area) and the hotel offers the pick up service for a honest price (even though it may sound expensive).

The bungalow where we stayed was nice, clean and quite well-equipped.

The staff is the best! They are kind and super helpful. The gave us bikes for free to go around and helped us organize the boat trip around the lake.

I totally recommend this great place!

We stayed at Princess Garden for 3 nights in September 2012. It had 8 bungalows and a few more were being built for the peak season.
The best is without doubt, the service: There was always a small variation in he breakfast, and everyday we got a complimentary smoothie or juice delivered to our room. The owner will offer you free bycicles, although only once during your stay (he was restoring a few more bikes). They were very good quality Japanese bikes, by far the best we had in our two weeks in the country.
The rooms are relatively large and have a wardrobe that can be locked (bring your own padlock, although you don't actually need it). The terrace is perfect to chill out after a long trek or just to read in the wicker chairs.
The swimming pool is very nice and constantly cleaned, although it's not as necessary here as in Mandalay or Bagan, as the temperature is much lower.

A very good choice in Nyaungshwe.

Very friendly staff and they help immediately. They organize taxi with non-English speaking (cheaper) of English speaking driver (more expensive).
The rooms are well maintained and in very good condition.
This hotel is at the outskirts of the town (15 min walk to market place), it’s good if you take a flashlight with you during night time.

We enjoyed our stay at Inle Lake thanks to the wonderful service and helpful onwer at this hotel. We stayed two nights. Each afternoon when we returned from day of touring we were treated to a smoothie or milkshake, they were excellant. The owner advised us on the tours to take and arranged transfers at reasonable rates.

We both loved this place. It has a nice pool, good breakfast and decent rooms. The owners are very friendly and will help and advise you in any way they can. For a great meal visit "the green chili" just next door.

Very cool and laidback place, located on a quiet canal away from the noisy center of Nyaungshwe. The owner and the staff are friendly, helpful and reliable. Trips, transferts and activities can be arranged easily and at a good rate by the owner, who is also generous with advice. The place is cosy and relaxed, with a nice swimming pool. The bungalows are relatively basic for the comfort (no air con, but you don't need it in the mild mountaineous climate there), but quite pleasant. Very good value for money.

We stayed in one of the bungalows/rooms for three nights in July and we don't regret that we chose to stay at Princess Garden.

The hotel is managed/owned by a burmese couple that speak very good english. The man welcomed us upon arrival and he was very helpful and nice. His wife was a little bit less friendly, so if you would like to get help with something, it's better to ask the man! :)

The hotel consists of around eight small bungalows/cottages set in a beautyful, lush garden. The rooms doesn't look like luxury hotel rooms at all, but they're clean and the beds are soft and comfortable. There's no air conditioning in the rooms, but this isn't really a problem since the Inle Lake area isn't very hot, actually it can be a little bit chilly at night. We were a little bit concerned for mosquitos since there's no AC, but it wasn't really a problem. There's mosquito nets in the windows and we sprayed the room at night.

As already mentioned, the room was clean, but the bathroom was a little bit dark and there was a strange smell in there. The room was cleaned daily, but we thought it was a little bit annoying that the cleaning staff was moving our stuff around the room. Probably, they did this just to be nice, but I would prefer if they could try to not touch more personal items than necessary.

A very nice gesture of the hotel is that they're serving a refreshing drink like a juice or smoothie or something in the afternoon when coming back from sightseeing.

There's a nice swimming pool in the garden, but this could have been cleaner. Also, there are sunbeds around the pool, but they do not provide towels, so you will have to use your own.

The breakfast was good, but they could have served the items in another order. We got fruits and a big chocolate pancake first, and the toast and eggs after that. I think most western people would prefer the eggs and toasts before the fruit and the pancake.

There's no safe in the room, but there is a big luggage storing room where you can close the door with your own padlock.
