We stayed at Paramount Inle as there were lots of good reviews, and it seemed good value for money. However, it just didn't live up to expectations on any front.

The hotel is in a nice location, and was probably quite nice when it was first built - however it's very dilapidated now. The rooms are okay - too much wood varnished in too many shades of brown - a little like staying in an old caravan on stilts - with water pressure and electricity supply to match. However, they were cleaned every day, beds were turned down etc - housekeeping was good.

Restaurant was passable, food was okay but very unattractively photographed on the menu!! It wasn't possible to sit outside at night which was a pity - and more could be done to create some atmosphere in the restaurant.

You are a captive audience on the lake, as it isn't easy to just 'pop out', and given that's the case I was shocked that there are no communal areas at all - nowhere to sit out in the sun, no bar. There's a 'sun deck' which has no chairs and was filthy (ruined the blanket I sat on), and there's a tower which looked like a bar in the photo's, but which was just a third floor deck with a few metal and leatherette chairs strewn around - not what I was expecting at all.

The room had a nice balcony looking out over the lake, but having a few beers watching the sun go down would cost a fortune. We took a crate of beer which we bought before arriving, and I'd highly recommend anyone else does the same.

The room was yet another sore point - the staff put us in the wrong one, grudgingly moved us, but then tried to move us again the next day. We had to be pretty firm that it was their mistake, and they needed to find a way to deal with it which didn't include shifting us around every day. The staff tried to be helpful, but I'm not convinced they really understood what was wrong with asking people to move rooms every day.

We had a nice time at Inle, it's beautiful and there are some lovely places to see and eat, but if we went back we wouldn't stay at Paramount Inle again.

Room Tip: Make sure you request a room facing the lake

Our room over the water at this hotel was really charming and we enjoyed sitting on our balcony with a cold drink at the end of our very busy days on the lake. The bed was comfy with good linen, the food (both breakfast and dinner) was great and the staff were very friendly. It is important to note that this is not a glamorous hotel but it is very acceptable and we really enjoyed our three nights here. We would certainly return.

Compared to the other 4 hotels in Myanmar we stayed in, we enjoyed Paramount Inle the best. The price was not high (after off season discount, booked by telephone). the management and staff extremenely friendly and helpful. For us the only place where we had continuous internet services, in our room a bit slow but in reception area fast. general design and atmosphere great. we recommend you take a canoe trip through the floating gardens in combination with a hike.

Room Tip: If you book a cottage, choose one which faces the lake.

This property, while not 5 star, has very clean rustic rooms set on stilts in the water (water level low this time of the year so it was set in mud :-( ). Very good customer service and good food, which was not expensive taking into account that you ar a captive audience once on the property. All in all very good value for the money

We stayed for 2 nights in a deluxe bungalow and I just want to echo what nearly every other traveller has reported about the Paramount Inle Resort….Wonderful in every way –from the staff, to the bungalow, and to the views.

Here is a few hints:

- I noticed all the tourists hired the boat with the engines for an entire day which we also did. But to mix things up and give us a different perspective, we asked front desk to hire us a canoe and had a nice local man paddle us around the village for an hour.

- Otherwise, upon recommendation of travellers here on trip advisor we split our accommodation at Inle. We stayed for 2 nights at a guesthouse on the mainland and the other 2 nights at the Paramount Inle Resort. We stayed on the mainland as we wanted the freedom to walk/bicycle around the town as we pleased during the day and evening. And the other 2 nights to stay at the Lake as it is beautiful and a must do, however, you don’t have the freedom on the lake to come and go as you please in the evening as the boats on the lake stop running (you just take it easy and sit on your balcony/tower and watch the most beautiful sunrises/sunsets and watch local fisherman and life go by).

Upon landing at Heho airport, its about 45-60 minutes to the harbour area and then another 45 or so minutes by boat. The lake is quite shallow, so don't worry, but if it rains it might not be fun!

The resort is brilliant! On stilts on the road and watching the sun go down on your little veranda is delightful. The food is average and like most of Myanmar, a bit oily in parts, but generally ok. Remember, its on the lake so don't expect fine dining. The staff were friendly and efficient and what with the setting, its quite blissful. In-room spa facilities can be arranged and are value for money.

We did a couple of trips out of the resort and they were good.

One thing, they wake up early and so if you have a lake facing cottage, then the boats come noisily past you from just after dawn so don't expect a lazy lie in. The rooms are beautiful appointed and relaxing despite the boats flying past.

All in all, blissful!

Room Tip: There are several trips/tour on offer. The market is good, but the 8,000kyat short boat ride and wal...

We stayed for two nights at this nice hotel on the lake. We loved arriving by boat and were given a bungalow facing the lake. The bungalow is made of teak, with a thatched roof and balcony facing the water and the sea gulls. The rooms are well fitted, with safe, fridge, a/c, mosquito nets and a reasonable bathroom.

However, the lighting, even in the bathroom was poor, and unless you huddled in one corner of the bedroom you could not read. Teak walls look very pleasant but reduce the effect of any light levels, so even more lighting should be provided.
Wifi was non existent in the cabins and intermittent in the reception or deck area. Both these aspects were annoying given there is not a lot else to do after sunset.

The dining room was pleasant , but no a/c in there even on one muggy night , and the windows were not open either. The food is fine but quite limited both for breakfast and dinner, both of which most people eat there.

However the service was good with friendly help at each step, whether embarking onto boats or asking for extra items, laundry etc or in the restaurant.

Given the hotels setting, giving access to much of the lake with its multitude of villages huddling along the shore, the pagodas and temples around the lake and all to see in the area, it is an ideal base to stay and venture out from on a daily basis

Wonderful photographic views of the sunrise (from our balcony ) and sunset can be taken

Room Tip: Try to get a room with balcony facing the lake, to watch the lake traffic----- it is fun watching th...
