I do not recognise the negative reviews of this hotel. We visited in august this year and as our second hotel in myanmar it made a big impact. Firstly we had an upper floor double room and a lower floor twin room and they were both very large and well equipped. Both rooms had great views of the lake and the approach from the lake. The photos of our views are breathtaking. Although the lake was relatively quiet during our stay I can imagine that during busy periods it would be a relief to be away from the noise of the boat traffic. The only noise at the hotel came from the chanting at the local buddhist temple. The hotel is close to a village where there are other places to eat which is a good thing because we did find the food at the hotel to be inconsistent in quality - we ate lunch and dinner. Breakfast was generally good but main course evening meals varied. Our party of 4 did however agree that the hotel does a wonderful french apple tart and when available good home made vanilla ice cream. One plea to the hotel - please serve your apple crumble warm as it tastes so much better. Staff were all very attentive particularly the restaurant staff. A lovely hotel that makes its guests feel very special.

Room Tip: There is a lovely small bar just down the road from the hotel ( leave the hotel and turn right past the temple). There is also a good restaurant further into the village which makes a great change from the food at the hotel which is variable in quality. Top floor rooms give beautiful views of the lake otherwise ground floor rooms also have reasonable views and provide access to lovely gardens.

We stayed for 3 nights during monsoon season, and despite being the only guests for 2 of those nights, the hotel did not compromise the service in any way, Our room was quite possibly the most beautiful of any we have stayed at with beautiful wood floors and high ceilings. The restaurant was a little pricey, but the food was definitely worth it as every meal we had there was delicious. The staff were charming and dedicated - to the point that the manager got us some seeds from the breakfast papaya to plant at home. The complimentary massage was also wonderful and the landscaping in the hotel beautiful. A truly wonderful stay. We will definitely be back

Very friendly resort, with high standards. The staff seemed to be genuinely happy to be there, were shy but smiling. The manager is very sympathetic to local people. We stayed at Christmas and a group from the local orphanage came in to make a little performance after dinner, which was a special event. Good but expensive restaurant and lovely breakfast buffet. Made us wish our stay at Inle was a bit longer.

I arrived at around midnight with no reservation and was lucky to get the last room available which was more of a suite with sitting room. Beautiful immaculate room with traditional but modern interesting design details such as a wooden chest/trunk mini bar! Fresh flowers and fruit and an exceptionally comfortable huge bed. In the morning I opened up my curtains and went out on to my balcony and was stunned by the amazing view, reflections on the water of local Burmese on their way, either on foot, moped, bicycle or horse and cart. Fantastic breakfast served up in the open air restaurant, lovely relaxed atmosphere, as per all of Inle Lake. Polite professional service in a wonderful hotel.

Room Tip: All rooms on stilts in rows. Book ahead!

We stayed here for two nights during the monsoon. The hotel management has not skimped on anything - the accommodation is excellent and luxurious; the food is relatively pricey but superb (breakfast (included in the cost) included freshly baked patisserie and wonderful home-made jams). The staff were permanently smiling and the restaurant manager went out of his way to make each guest seem special - my other half was feeling ill, so he supplied us with a kettle and supply of green tea. Great views over the lake. The location, in Kaung Daing, is a bit remote - all the action is in Nyaungshwe, which is about 20-30 mins drive. But, if you want a luxurious, self-contained boutique resort, you cannot do better than this. My only issue was that the management want you to pay for your stay in cash in advance, which I refused to do (I paid half up front). Note that it is not easy to change money in this area, so come to Inle with plenty of kyats (although the hotel did accept payment for all extras (incurred in kyats) in USD, at a fairly OK exchange rate). I intend to return to Burma and will definitely stay here again.
