Entrance to Hotel is by boat. Our large rooms extended over the lake with a patio off the bedroom. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful along with all the public spaces. Walk the grounds and see the extensive planting. Watch the sun cascade reflections on the water.

Room Tip: We had a wonderfully large room with separate living room, bedroom, private balcony over the water...

We stayed in a Royal Suite. It was heaven, situated on stilts hanging over the water. The furnishings and decoration were of the highest quality and I could have stayed there for the rest of my life. The staff at the hotel were really tuned in to the needs of the guests. Food was superb. Excellent location. Good management really works. This hotel comes with the highest accolades. We will definitely return.

Room Tip: Royal Suites are highly recommended.

The Inle Resort is a beautiful resort, just a 20 to 30-minutes boat ride from Nyaung Shwe (which is good, so it doesn't take you a long time back to the airport).

We were warmly welcomed and the staff showed us the room (we booked a Garden View Cottage) and explained us everything.

The room was really nice, beautiful furnished and it was quiet. At night you only hear the frogs or some birds during the day. Wonderful! What I missed were some insect repellents or incents in the room. Also take care when using the water heater, the first time I used it, hot water was flowing over my hand, when pumping out the water.
The shower in the bathroom was unfortunately and defenitely NOT 4* standard! Just seperated from the rest of the bathroom by a shower curtain, the shower head was scaled and the water was flowing out slow, spare and going out any direction, the drain was at grade, so after a while the water spreaded over the bathroom floor. Hint: put your towels under the shower curtain, so they stop the water!

Breakfast and dinner were delicious and you have to try the Myanmar wine they offer! Also the restaurant is nice decorated and you can sit inside or outside. Next to the restaurant is the MingalaBar, they serve quite good cocktails.
In front of the hotel, near the entrance you can also sit and relax, enjoy a drink or watch the sun go down. Very nice!

Now about the internet: no WiFi, just a computer for use at the lobby. 15 minutes for 1 US$. It's not cheap, but otherwise, it's just 1 $. BUT: it takes about 10 minutes to open the website of your e-mail account, log in, write a very short mail (the writing took me about 2 minutes) and log out again. The internet is so very unbelievable extremely slow, therefore it's a cheek charging 1$ for 15 minutes.

Besides the internet and the hostel-standard shower, the hotel is fabulous, I enjoyed the stay and would come back!

Room Tip: The Garden Cottages are not directly at the lake, so it is very quiet. If you have a room or villa r...

This top-end lakeside hotel is built on land rather than on stilts in the lake so there is plenty of greenery and (helpfully) shade. The resort is designed to be approached from the water. Stunning style in every aspect. Though full, it never seemed crowded. We had 3 nights in a Deluxe villa, effectively a vast, comfortable suite. Managed by a Frenchman, so bread and pastries a cut above elsewhere in Myanmar. Excellent western and Asian menu in the gi-enormous dining room. Good outdoor dining terrace when warm/cool enough. No broadband so no wifi, but you can pay to use the hotel’s satellite-linked computer. Smiling and helpful staff. Gorgeous spa. The resort is far enough away from the boat thoroughfares to be very quiet.

The Inle Resort is a beautiful hotel situated directly on Inle Lake and comes highly recommended in every sense. We stayed in a Royal Villa room, perched on the lake front with a spacious dark-wood sitting room, a bedroom with floor-to-ceiling picture windows, a balcony, a spa bath. Our stay was relaxing, and the location was perfect for easy access to the Lake's main attractions and to Nyaung Shwe. Be sure to visit Shwe Yan Pyay, and if you really want to get off the beaten track, take a 2-3 hour speedboat ride to Sagar.

Room Tip: Go for a Royal Villa - it'll cost slightly more, but it's worth every penny

Huge public spaces dwarf cottages that are scattered around pools of stagnant water that breed mosquitoes. We dared not open the door leading to the deck overlooking one of these pools and moved quickly in/out of our room. Only the most expensive rooms fronted the lake itself. Buffet breakfast and dinners were average for such large hotel complexes with many choices served in a gigantic hall; the bento box dinner for our tour group 1 night had fixed foods of course. Sunny patio area for breakfast as well. No WiFi; only Internet was one desktop at a desk next to reception at one US dollar per 15 minutes. It worked quite fast at 6-7 AM; they would not allow connecting the Internet line to my laptop, which was my experience everywhere in the country. I used a USB drive to transfer data from my laptop to be used on the desktop, but not sure if this was allowed--I did not ask. Service was very prompt and friendly; they aimed to please. Sunsets were great from deck chairs and cocktail tables near the entrance. 30 minutes by boat from the main town and about 45-60 minutes to sights to the south and southwest. Overall, I would recommend, but as others have said, bring the mosquito repellant.

This is a beautiful resort in a beautiful lake. Bruno, the manager, is everywhere. Takes care of any problem as they arise. Rooms are very nice, many lake excursions from the resort, there's a great trek to be done. The restaurant is huge and there's a different menu every night. The staff is always ready to help. Very mellow place. I'll be back next year.

Room Tip: Rooms on the left hand side have a better view of the lake
