Had a romantic meal with my husband. Sat inside with the table overlooking the street. It was a quiet evening considering it was a Saturday night, a gentleman was playing the piano for about an hour before he had a break. There are many interesting photos dotted around, the largest, of the carts crossing the bridge and the village in the background is a must see when you are there- not quite the same feeling looking it on an ipad.

Considering its smart, slightly formal surroundings, the price of the meal and drinks was inexpensive. I had the meatballs (which I was told was a mixture of pork and beef and one had quite a bit of chilli!) and my husband the rich mans pocket (I think) both of which were in the special grills section. I liked my green salad, it gave me more ideas of making the same thing at home. To finish of my husband had Turkish coffee and tried to read his fortune with the booklet the waiter gave him. Unfortunately there was too much sludge still left to read anything. Perhaps you will have more luck than him.

We ate here our first night in Veliko Tarnovo - it was beautiful night and we sat in the courtyard. The waiter was very friendly and helpful and walked us through the menu. We started with an assortment of traditional salads and bread, both of which were delicious! I had chicken with cheese, honey, and orange, which was good, although not phenomenal. My husband had a pork dish (pork hunter style I believe), which was very good! We topped it off with a couple of 2 lev local beers for a great night out. The whole meal came to about 35 leva for a starter, bread, two entrees, water and beer. Recommend for a good night out in a wonderful environment!

Firstly, Veliko Turnovo is an absolute must if one is in Bulgaria. Large enough so that there is plenty to do, yet relaxed enough so that it really can feel like a holiday.
Secondly, the Inn is a wonderful venue to experience Bulgarian tradition, and sample great food and wine. Set in an historic Inn which has been refurbished in its original style, this is a charming venue.

The cuisine is based on traditional local recipes, sometimes with a twist (e.g. mozarella), but the food that we had was all very fresh and of an impecably high standard. The wild mushrooms were a delight.

The wine and spirit selection is extensive, the waiter recommended a local wine which was spectacular.
The service was also very good, but perhaps a little formal.

Overall, a definate 5* dining experience in a stunning, historic setting.

If you are in the area ths is a must!

The location is very nice and the food was good. Be prepared for at least 1 hour waiting if you go for dinner. Seafood was good but not excellent. As a comparisons in ETNO (city center) we eat much butter and the prices are smaller.

The "Han Hadji Nikoli" is the best place for the tourist to visit in Veliko Turnovo. It is an old renovated 19 c. building - national architectural monument - now a complex with a museum, art gallery and an excellent restaurant with a beautiful garden in the courtyard. Every summer there are different and changing historical exhibitions in the museum of the Hadji on the second floor of the complex. And every month there are new artists presented in the Art Gallery which is on the third floor. The Hadji Nikoli complex is a favourite place to dine and enjoy good food, art, history, beautiful and unique architecure, and the good wine of the house. Recommend it to all! This is a place that you should not miss when you're in Veliko Turnovo!
