The hotel was very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The animation team that was doing all the entertanment and other activities throught the day were brilliant . The food in this hotel was terrible always cold and we had to warm it in a microwave also more often than not wasnt cooked properly. Ie.... raw fish, chicken, meats on skewers, and burgers wer'nt cooked right through. As for the drinks there wasnt a very good variety of spirits or cocktails to choose from on the all inclusive menu some you had to pay for. I dont feel that this hotel catered enough for the british, the majority of the other guests were Russian, polish and german and were very rude and ignorant. This was my first time to visit bugaria and also to go allinclusive, I think I would return to bulgaria again but not this hotel because the food was very disappointing for the price that we paid. It was a good job I liked salad cause that's all I could eat for the 14 days that we were there.

Room Tip: Pool veiw with a/c

Dear Tina G,
I am Janina Ninova, the quality manager at Sol Nessebar Resort.
Thank you for beeing our guest and for the time spent on sharing your feedback.
We are glad to hear that you liked your room, the cleaning, the animation and the whole staff, who "were very friendly and helpful".
I am sorry to realize that we could not manage to satisfy your expectations regarding food and drinks. The dishes of our two-week-menu are prepared by our team of special trained professional chefs. Yet, we are aware that meeting the taste of all our multinational audience is quite a huge challange. I am pretty sure, that with some guidance through the buffet you would have find national dishes to your satisfaction, especially at the show cooking.
We are pleased you like our counrty and you might visit it again, so I still hope you to be our repeater. Should you do so, I will personally assist you in the restaurant.
Best regadrs,
Janina Ninova, Quality Manager Sol Nessebar Resort.

This hotel was sold me as a 5* on a beach, but:
1. The beach is NOT of the hotel, and you have to pay for a place at. 10 cm from another family
2. The food is NOT international, but definitely local. Can be good for a couple of days, but then is quite annoying. And the coffee given on the planes is better than the one available at the hotel.
3. The customers of the hotel, mostly russian or bulgarian, have no clue of what politeness and respect is, happily jumping queues, occupying places at the swimming pool, smoking and such. The rules theocratically set by the hotel, forbidding these behavior, are not enforced at all.

The hotel personnel, on the contrary, is very polite and efficient, always available, and with a decent to good level of English or French.
The Mini Club people are great and very friendly. My kids had some problems with the stuff used for the face painting, but was a minor.

Dear Marco C,
I am Janina Ninova, the Quality Manager of Sol Nessebar Resort.
It was a pleasure welcoming you to Sol Nessebar Palace. I thank you for your review as every guest impression is valuable. We are happy you find our staff “very polite and efficient, always available, and with a decent to good level of English or French.”
Indeed the beach is not a part of our property. Our solution to this fact - the Sun Terraces we are very proud of. There are sun beds, parasols and beverages – all parts of the all inclusive package.
We are pleased to provide service to holiday makers of different nationalities (21 this morning) - it is a challenge to give the best to make them all happy!
Looking forward to your next stay at our hotel,

Kind regards,
Janina Ninova, Quality Manager Sol Nessebar Resort.

The hotel is - three hotels, which are situated in the common area.
Was last July-August (2012)
The resort is fantastic for travelling with children:
5 star property.
All inclusive. Food not bad, beer, bars, ice cream - all free.
Bar with alcohol free till 10 or 11 o'clock (do not remember)
Every evening children MINIDISCO... really fun for children (outside on the fresh air)
After mini disco some show for "parents".
At the day time - 4 swimming pools - you can use all.
Children club, fun for children with some special group - all day.
The hotel has a private beach.

The hotel is far away from casino hotels, and all the nightlife stuff. So do not go
by misstake if you want to have some nightlife and etc.. You will be dissapointed.

Room Tip: Take a room that faces the sea and the swimming pool

We have just returned from 2 weeks at this All inclusive resort. Weather- Perfect, days of blue cloudless skies, 30-35 degrees and only dropped to 25 in the night time. Hotel beach - very nice, shallow and calm. Grounds - very nice wooded/parkland between Hotel/Pool and Beach, neat gardens and all very clean. Room - Large, very clean, but a needed a bit of a spruce up. Kettle would have been nice, to avoid a trip to the restaurant each morning for our cuppa in bed. Large bed, but bedding was a bit odd. We had a view across Nessebar/Sunny beach and the hills - very nice. 6th floor, or higher for the best views. Food - always a good selection of food everyday, ate far too much. Cocktail list - poor and not made with much care. We did feel the All inclusive package was a bit limited, although all said, we ate and drank well the whole time. A varied selection, and the staff worked very hard - smart and friendly.

Swimming pools ( 3 in total ) were great, our 3 year old loved it, and a short stroll down some steps to the beach. Deposit for towels, pay for parking, and Sauna/steam room etc all incurred extra charges - bit of a cheek for a 5 star!! Not really 5 star, but a good 4 I would say, for facilities, location and cleanliness.

Walk, bus, horse/carriage or taxi into Nessebar Old town, or Ravda. Offer Half the price quoted by taxi drivers, they usually accept that.Old town - beautiful, and spent several evenings just strolling round, lots of pretty houses etc. Sunny Beach - Urghh, avoid, unless you want cheap beer, and lots of party goers. Ravda ( nearest place to Hotel) really nice, quieter, and more Bulgarian vibe. ( Surf Bar ) right on the beach was our chillout place.

We had a brilliant holiday overall, hired a car for 2 days, from down the road, easy and efficient. Well worth doing, to see other places on the coast like SOZOPOL, POMORIE and OBZOR and the inland countryside is stunning. ( Watch out for potholes, but it is similar to the English countryside, only very hot!)

The only downside to this holiday/hotel was ...... THE RUSSIANS. Officially voted the rudest tourists in Europe, they are not only rude, they are greedy, arrogant and have no manners. They barge into the lift, before you have exited, they dont make eye contact, they do not queue and take over the beach. They are also very strict with their kids, to the point, of smacking and grabbing them openly in public, and shouting at them for ages. They are so rude to the hotel staff, disgusting.. Now, of course this was not ALL of the Russian visitors, but MOST. There are many visitors from Romania, Ukraine, Poland and Hungary. Think we came across just 4 English couples in two weeks, but this didnt really matter, only to have some polite people to talk to would have been nice.

I really think this Hotel needs to address this, for the sake of other nationalities visiting, as By the the end of two weeks, I was ready to go home ( not normally the case), so I didnt have to endure their ignorance any longer. A real shame, as the rest of the Holiday/Hotel was excellent.

Loved the Hotel and Bulgaria, but would think twice about returning, because of the people mentioned above :-(

Room Tip: Rooms facing Nessebar/Countryside = some have very small balconies, we were lucky and had a full wid...

We have visited Bulgaria on 5 previous occasions, but have stayed at the resort of Albena. This time we decided for a change and opted for the Sol Nessebar Palace. We now wished we hadn't!

The hotel is great in may respects, the rooms are large, the place spotlessly clean and the gardens well tended. Being part of a large complex we expected a variety of nationalities and children to be there. However, we did not expect that at every meal time, whether eating inside or outside you could not get away from kids shouting, screaming and screeching at the top of their voices. It was the same at the lobby bar and terrace. Not only that, kids were allowed to treat the restaurant as a playground. They ran all over the place chasing each other around the tables, even hiding under the table where we were eating. It was the same at the outside dining areas and at the bar. One morning they were playing football when people were eating out on the terrace. This was experienced every day. We are aware that Bulgarians do not have their food very hot, but on several occasions the food was barely warm and had to be heated in the microwave provided. There was a good selection of dishes at all the meals.
Sitting out on the balcony reading a book or playing a game of cards with a nice glass of wine has to be abandoned at 11.05pm as the balcony lights are centrally controlled and swithed off. I imagine that is like "lock down" or "lights out" at prison when you have to back to your cell!!! We were very surprised that you could not buy a drink when the all inclusive time ended and there is no waiter service at the bar terrace. That was first the time that has ever happened at hotels we have stayed at. Apart from the animation team show there was no live music - again a first for us.
There is not much around the hotel, although we did fine one hotel bar a 15 minute walk away where they had live music on the terrace overlooking the sea. So we went there most evenings.

Possibly a great place for kids, but otherwise could not recommend this hotel. Certainly not 5 Star by Western standard and struggling to give it 2 stars for the reasons above.

What we can say is that the staff, without exception were brilliant, always friendly, helpful and cheerful.

Dear Dcs1133,
I am Janina Ninova, the Quality Manager at Sol Nessebar Resort. Thank you for your holiday choice and for your valuable comments as well. The management discussed them all one by one on our quality council. We appreciate the nice words you describe our hotel with - about the rooms, the cleanliness, the gardens, the food selection and especially about our staff.
We value also your comments that give us points to think about – for example how to combine our eco program (switching balcony lights off at 11 p.m. is a part of it) and still provide our guests with evening reading comfort. I am pretty sure we will find solutions – all you have to do is to please consider the idea to pay another visit to Sol Nessebar Palace, to enjoy once again the service of our staff and to discover our improvements.
Hoping to welcome you in our resort again soon,
Kind regards, Janina Ninova, Quality Manager Sol Nessebar Resort.

We spent at Sol Nessebar Palace 7 nights at the end of May, beginning of June 2013 and we really loved it!!! Everything was great, room, service, food, hotel, entertainment. We were so pleased to be there that we did not want to leave, especially after last show we have seen on scene: The Broadway Show;-) People who are working there are so lovely, they inviting you to take part in all of activities, and you are just happy to join them. We took part in Salsa Dancing course, aqua aerobic, archery, and our 4,5 years old, very shy daughter was happy to go to Kids Club every afternoon for whole 2,5 hours and then in the evening to Mini Disco as well. There was always something nice for kids, each evening some other attraction, like clown, magic show, etc. I strongly recommend this place to everybody: just go and check yourself!!! We are definitely going to go back there next year;-)
