“A taste of something very unique!”
Reviewed September 18, 2013

After some difficulty locating it, we eventually found the renowned Eco Bar which from the outside just looks like an unimposing bar front.

It's quite an eye opener to walk through the door (watch your head) and be confronted with what looks like a cave with unusual rock formations. It's a little bit claustrophobic when you first enter and I found it a bit oppressive at first. I wouldn't want to sit in this confined area but it does open out to a more spacious area.

We didn't eat there so can't comment on the food but as a tourist attraction with a difference I'd highly recommend it particularly for children who would love the turtles and the Flintstone interior!

“amazing”
Reviewed September 17, 2013

Found the bar on our 2nd searching trip after being given instructions from staff at hotel.Go up main street until you come to a tower with a clock on it.Then take 2nd left and its down the street a bit on the left.Everyone who visited when we were there was amazed by it-could imagine it getting very busy-not many seats outside but worth hanging around until some come up.Seats inside feel like a waiting room for outside

“Old Nessebar”
Reviewed August 30, 2013

We visited Nessebar in August 2013, and asked for directions to ECO-Bar By Michael. What an amazing place - we sat and drank cocktails watching the turtles.

“Would have been nice if the staff had a backbone!!”
Reviewed August 27, 2013

After finding this bar in 2012 and being too early to go in, we had promised our daughter we would visit this year and she was so looking forward to seeing the caves, pools and terrapins/turtles. After having a meal in old town, we made our way to the bar (the locals were brilliant with directions) Upon arrival it was clear the bar was full with a chain across the entrance but we were willing to wait (behind a couple in front who were looking through a menu) After standing there a while, looking through the window at the cave décor and seats (by this time my daughter was really eager to go in) a couple of people left the bar, and at the same time, the couple in front of us decided to walk away meaning we would have been next. Cue a totally cheeky couple who strolled up to the door/chain and let themselves in. The bar girl/waitress looked at them in disgust and shook her head but then picked up some menus and followed them through. This was after she had watched us waiting outside for some time to come in. We decided not to hang around after that, was more disappointed for my daughter than anything, will never go back and will spend our money somewhere else where it is appreciated, and where staff don't just let rude customers barge their way in.
