“Nice, good location.”
Reviewed February 8, 2013

We spend our holidays in Hotel Flora this winter. The Hotel is clean and warm. We were in studios which are spacious. The hotel have relatively big guarded parking lot. The location is almost perfect 50m from ski slopes. The Yastrebets Gondola is not so far (150m downhill) The staff of Hotel is ok but could be bit better. The only "complaint" were almost same food every day. Next time we go to Borovets, sure we will choose the same hotel again. We recommend this Hotel. All in all a great hotel for the money you pay.

Room Tip: Ask for room with balcony towards parking lot.

Three of us booked into a one bedroom apartment. After an initial mix up (which was dealt with very efficiently) we were given two very nice studios. The apartments were clean, warm, well furnished and in an excellent location.
The ski hire and lessons was organized through the apartment complex (Hunters Ski School & Hire) and again it was excellent. The people at the ski hire shop (thanks Des) were very friendly and helpful and during the lessons we laughed from start to finish (and well as having some great skiing - thanks Bobby).
The airport transfer was also organized by the apartment complex and also worked very flawlessly.
It was my first time skiing in Bulgaria (the 9th country I have skied in) and I really didn't know what to expect. However, it turned out to be a really enjoyable experience and actually one of the best fun ski holidays I have been on. The mountain is not huge, you will have been on more modern lifts but it is beautiful and worked very well for us. We will be back and will stay in the same place if this review doesn't push the prices up!

I've been to a few of the hotels in Borovets and this is the best so far.
Large lounge which is perfect for drying off ski gear after a day on the slopes. Nivea kitchen if you fancy sorting your own breakie or dinner (we had half board).
Bedroom wasn't huge but didn't need to be considering the size of the other rooms.
Food was ok but not as good as the other hotels in boro I've stayed at. But the food options in the main triangle are on your doorstep and cheap. So not an issue.
The hotel in next to the gondaler to get you up the top, perfect location.
My only real negative is you have to pay for use of the hot tube next to the (cold) pool.
On the whole, great hotel and great ski resort for beginners, families and après ski!
I'm staying here again Jan 2013.

I'm currently catching up on writing reviews for my holidays this year. I booked my holiday through ski-trips.co.uk who provided and excellent service. I was travelling with a few friends and was used to package holidays so dreaded having to book everything seperately but these people sorted me the cheapest flights, easy transfers and two apartments in flora so I was really happy.

I've stayed in flora apartments twice now through the same company. They are only a short walk from the gondola to the left and all the shops and restaurants are to the right.

borovetz is a great place for learners and improvers. Skiing and boarding are jointly popular here and the bars and restaurants are always buzzing at night and by the slopes all the cafes have people chilling drinking hot chocolate.

A good mix of familes, couples and groups of mates really. It's so cheap that I felt like a millionaire every day where as I used to feel like a pauper when skiing in France.

Am definitely going back this year and booking soon before prices change (so far 2012 prices are same in 2013). If you want five star accomodation at three star prices then come here as it has all you need - great skiing by day and cheap food at night plus lots of nearby shops to stock up on munchies for the room - oh and english tv channels!

The Flora Apartments are separate from the Flora Hotel, so after a small mix up with the receptionist in the hotel, we eventually got an apartment. The apartments are in a great location to the bottom of the slopes, bars, restaurants, ski hire and ski depots. We booked our ski hire and my lessons through PMS who are located at the front of the hotel on one side of reception and then went to get our skis from the hire shop on the other side of reception. The guys in the ski hire shop are fab with a great sense of humour and they have a daily report on the wall of the conditions and which slopes are open and closed.

We booked the apartment through booking.com and paid £110 for three nights. We had a self catering apartment, but we ate out as it is so reasonable. The room was clean and comfortable and we had fresh towels every day.

To eat and drink we would recommend Bobbies Bar just down the hill on the left hand side which has a fantastic atmosphere. Don't be fooled if it looks so busy you can't get in, Bobbie's wife Karen will make everybody "shove up" to fit you in. Plenty of free shots and a lock in. We didn't leave last night until 3.30am!! We'd been there since 5pm!! There was an English football match on so they put on curry and rice with a glass of large beer for 10lv which is about £4.30!!

We would also recommend Hunters Steak House further down on the right hand side. Not too impressed with the Golden Horn!

We booked this hotel as part of a package on a half board basis in Jan 2012.

It's cheap and cheerful, the rooms are of a good size and are clean.
We requested no smoking rooms but there were given rooms that had been smoked in. It wasn't a stinky ashtray but it's something to be aware of.

The location of the hotel is superb, it is at the top of the hill into the resort and no more than a 2 minute walk to the slopes and 4 mins to the gondola.

Food on half board was ok, usual kind of breakfast buffet, French pastries, cereals, juice and hot eggs, beans, local sausage/ham and bread. Hot food was actually served hot and was more than edible. It wouldn't win awards but was good value.
Dinner was buffet also, with soups and salad bar and a wide selection of mains and desserts to self serve.

The hotel has a nice comfortable bar with good service and very reasonably priced drinks.

other hotel facilities included free wifi (signal was patchy in our rooms) and a health spa. The health spa was fairly basic, a small pool which was not very warm and the Jacuzzi could have been cleaner - changing facilities were very basic.

We are going back to borovetts next year and if the hotel is on a decent package deal we would return. At the end of the day it is clean, comfortable and convenient.
