This is an amazing place to visit, its gorgeous amazing views and the garden its very impressive. It has been constructed back in 1937 by the ruler of Romania, Queen Mary. The construction actually took 11 years to complete but it has worth the wait as the result is mesmerizing.
And this doesn’t refer solely to the caste itself, but to its surroundings as well, which are an intrinsic part of the castle. The estate contains, besides the main castle, several villas where the guests of the Queen could rest undisturbed, a botanical garden with waterfalls and streams, Roman baths, and a chapel.
Queen Mary wanted to create here a replica of the Holy Lands.
The 9 m long waterfall its very impressive.Right above the waterfall, there is a flower garden with diverse blossoms which creates a vibrant and colorful scenery.
The Castle of Queen Mary can be described as an oasis. It offers a wonderful insight into the architectural designs of different cultures

We took the opportunity to visit Balchik and althought it was a distance from where we were staying I would do it again. The views are amazing and the Palace and Gardens are well worth a visit. The Palace inside is lovely.

Superb... It's a must see.
Great views. Queen Maria of Romania was a very tastefull woman so she build some villas and a great park. No wonder she wanted to have her tumb there.

The Quiet Nest, this is how the Queen Mary used to call this lovely place. Whether you want to understand more of Balkan history, experience architectural or landscape beauty or just relax, this is a great place to visit. We were impressed by the cactus collections and also by the way the Bulgarian cultural authorities preserved the memory of Queen Mary of Romania, in an area, let's not forget, occupied by Romania between 1913-1940. Calling it a palace can raise expectations a bit high, because we are taking about a very nice sea side villa. The gardens are quite royal there and the personality of the queen is present in many details. Besides the main villa, there are several buildings nice to visit: a mill, a wine cellar, a restaurant. Some of the former royal villas (there are several with the compound) serve now as accommodation facilities. Number one in our top is the mixture of garden with sea views which are magnificent.
