“Asked for the best sushi and a fancy place, but got none.”
Reviewed June 27, 2012

I visited this place per the recommendation of a co-worker, and the website's pictures did look good. I asked for the best sushi and a fancy place, and I got none.
The sushi was just ok, but the service was awful. The waitress wouldn't stop for a minute at our table, we'd have to make our requests while she passed by, making her forget orders every so often. The variety of fish wasn't great, and they didn't know their sake varieties either.
The decor is poor, loud, and with eye-hurting white light. The menu was sticky and the restroom filthy.
Wouldn't recommend it, can't say I had a nice experience here.

“If you like real sushi/sashimi (raw fish), this is the place to go.”
Reviewed May 28, 2012

Don't expect fancy and modern cuisine/decoration. Hideki is traditional and the best he has to offer is the quality of the fish. It's a place for real sushi lovers, and don't expect cream cheese, deep fried stuff. Only the best buri, toro, uni, oysters and so on. Hideki has now, 3 sushi places in Sao Paulo and I normally go to the restaurant in Moema. But he also offer a great variety of table dishes, such as sukiakys and Yosenabes. My favorites are, Chirashi special and Yamakake Omakassedom. The last one is only for really expert eaters, since it's very typical japanese, with slimy stuff such as tororo, uni, nato. In my opinion, worth every cent.

“Great Japanese Food in SP”
Reviewed May 28, 2012

Hideki is one of the best Japanese restaurantes in São Paulo. It has a great variety of dishes, not only sashimi and sushi but also all sort of cooked meals too. The sashimi is served over a "bed" of ice in order to keep it in the correct temperature and fresh. The slices are thick and taste divine. The cooked meals are also very good. Last time I ordered "Yakizakana Teishoku" expecting to receive a piece of anchovy and instead I was surprised by the whole fish! Delicious! All three restaurantes (Pinheiros, Moema and Bela Vista) maintain the same quality. It is very worthy to try!

“A nice japanese restaurant”
Reviewed March 27, 2012

When you arrive and they say: "Irashaimasse". You may bet: you are in a place that the chef is japanese, the food tastes wonderful and you really will get what you pay for, or even more.
The best order is : Omakasse. Better to order during the dinner time. Is a selection of what the restaurant has the best and they will prepare to you. You will love it, but just in case, ask the waiter what will come. If the chef Hideki is in the place (he has another 2 places) go ahead!! If not I am not sure.
Any way the sashimi, sushi are wonderful.
In the lunch time the japanese buffet is one of the best I ate here in São Paulo. It is a kind of all you can eat for the same price. If you can plan before decide to go, do not have your breakfast!!
