Royal Jardins Hotel
Ranked #18 of 327 Hotels in Sao Paulo
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed December 2, 2012

Stayed here for four nights whilst attending the 2012 Brazilian Grand Prix.
It took over an hour to get to the hotel from the airport battling with the morning commuter traffic.
The hotel is narrow and has just eight roomson each of it's fourteen (I think) floors. It's a business city, not really a tourist one, and the rooms are set up to cater as such. They are small. But clean and comfortable. Plus you do feel totally safe. Because as well as the security outside the hotel, you wll find that you need to use your room key to swipe the lift into action if you wish the lift to go up.
Breakfast was ok. Reasonable choice and plenty of it.
A small bar with about a dozen chairs offered somewhere to drink in the evening. Although being in a pretty safe area you can walk around and find some bars nearby.
The staff were all very good. Probably half of them speaking English fairly well.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the front of the hotel offer the better view. All of them are quiet.

We checked into this small hotel located in the heart of Jardins in São Paulo. It is in a perfect location- 2 blocks off Paulista and in the Jardins section of the city. from the moment we stepped out of the cab, we were greeted by friendly, helpful staff ( most of whom speak English). Iuri greeted us at the desk and from the moment check in started it was clear that in this hotel, service is paramount.
Breakfast was very very good, with plenty of options on the buffets. After the first day, we ordered the Japanese breakfast which included a perfectly cooked salmon fillet, miso soup, rice, and pickles. It was an outstanding start to our day!
Rooms are small, but perfectly appointed and spotlessly clean. Bed was oh so comfortable.
You can walk just about anywhere you want to go from the hotel, or the metro is just a few blocks away. We felt completely safe walking in the neighborhood at any time.
At checkout, Thais was happy to provide us with our room until 6pm ( nominal cost), book a taxi to airport, and still keep our luggage until we were ready to leave!
We cannot speak highly enough about the professionalism and kindness of every person we encountered at this lovely hotel! We would recommend to anyone- truly a gem!

Room Tip: We were in 2 rooms as we left for Rio for 4 days. Both rooms were excellent!

My wife and I stayed at the Royal Jardin Hotel for 5 nights in October. It's a great hotel in a great location. Close to wonder shopping and restaurants. Very safe for walking around and a wonderful breakfast with many choices.

Place is clean, safe and comfortable. Beds are good for two, bathrooms are ample with a walk in shower and service is very prompt. On the downside rooms are small and breakfast isn't great. Front desk very helpful. Given the price versus alternatives in this area in Sao Paulo it's good.

I have stayed at this hotel a few times now and find that the location is well suited for Avenida Paulista and getting to and from business appointments. Rooms are on the small side, but suitable as I am out most of the day. Supermarket nearby, but the restaurant is good with a nice, simple buffet for breakfast.

Room Tip: Probably the rooms higher up are quieter if street noise bothers you. Sao Paulo is a big city - ther...

Hotels in Brazil are complicated be aware that most hotels in Brazil claim to be 4 star but in fact they are barely 3. That's how things work in Brazil most of the time. I don't even think they have a local entity or group overseeing star ratings and like many things in Brazil you just learn to deal with it. Getting off the subject...

-Location
The hotel is well located in the business district of Sao Paulo. You will have plenty of good food around and you are near the subway - all walking distance.

-Hotel
First, the hotel room was not very clean, just take a look at some of the pictures. Second, the internet only worked half the time. The rooms are small, but that's common in Sao Paulo so no big deal there. Also, they have no ironing board in the hotels available for guests so expect to pay $12 USD for each shirt they iron for you.

-Staff
Well, they seemed to be helpful, but they were not able to fix the internet issue until half way my trip (2nd night)

-Breakfast
The nice thing of staying in Brazil is that most hotels you will have a very good hot breakfast with a buffet plus fruits and real juices. This place was the same so no complain.

Conclusion.
This place was not one of the worst hotels I stayed in SP and I would have left a higher rating if the room was cleaner and they spent a little more time and effort trying to resolve the internet issue which personally is a big problem specially when you are travelling for business.

Room Tip: High floors are quieter, the street is noisy. I stayed in the 6 floor and it was noisy during the ni...
