Fogo de Chao is a Brazilian steak house that is conquering US with its quality food and service.
To start with, this steak house has first quality meat, serving special cuts Brazilian style, a huge and diverse salad bar and a good wine list. If arriving by car, when you arrive a valet parking will immediately take care of your car. As soon as you sit, some appetisers are already served and your drink's order taken and served.
In the salad bar you can find a wonderful variety of greens and vegetables as well cheese, charcuterie and some Brazilian typical dishes.
All sorts of meat (many different cuts of beef, chicken, sausages, sheep, pork...) are served in a system that is called in Portuguese "rodizio". Waiters fly around tables in a almost dance pace with sticks where grilled meat where placed. They put the stick on your plate and cut the slice you choose (rare, median, well done... they will advise or send someone with your exact choice).
You have a sign read or green to signalise when you want them to stop serving you.
The house started in my hometown Porto Alegre, Southern Brazil and became the favourite steak house in Sao Paulo and in Brazil. Nowadays it has more places in US then in Brazil. But still, the one in Santo Amaro Avenue in Sao Paulo is my favourite.
Try "picanha", "fraldinha", "costela" for meat, fried manioc and their crispy onions rings. You will not regret it, especially if you are a meat lover.
Fogo de Chao is one of my favourite steak houses ever.
