Owner description: São Paulo's very own Empire State Building — the Edifício Altino Arantes, better known by the name of its previous owner, Banespa — opened in 1947 as a symbol of the fast-growing city's economic might. The striking views from the observation deck, accessed from the 33rd floor of the 161-meter-tall building, never fail to impress visitors. Views, while free, are daytime only; the building is only open during normal business hours.

“Inspired by the Empire State Building in New York”
Reviewed October 5, 2012

This is a half-day trip to ascend two elevators and steps to the top of the former tallest building in Sao Paulo. Once at the top and at the observation deck, the view is spectacular. I recommend you visit this site with friends.

“unique landscape”

Edificio Altino Arantes or most commonly known as Banespa Building has an amazing view from the top. You can clearly identify some of Sao Paulo's downtown main touristic landmarks, and also other characteristic points of the city such as the Ibirapuera park. It definitely worth the visit.

“Early mid week is best”
Reviewed September 14, 2012

With a clear sky one early morning, I took advantage to have a 360o view of the ever expansive city replete with concrete towers and appreciated the space I have at home.
One can imagine in its day it brought bewilderment, today a sad remnant of its former glory...be merit in restoration works being undertaken.
It is free and worth the visit to comprehend what this metropolis was, is and will be ...

In the heart of this amazing city is a skyscraper with spectacular views. It overlooks a city area of 21 million people. Truly on a clear day you can see forever. Definetly worth the visit.

“free and with great views”
Reviewed September 4, 2012

great views from the top, over a city that is not really beautiful. Is free. Go early to evict long lines. You need a identity document with photo to be allowed in.
