Owner description: Elevated over a concrete platform used for concerts and a weekly crafts fair, the Museu de Arte de São Paulo (São Paulo Art Museum, abbreviated MASP) is itself a work of art; the building is an imposing Modernist box suspended under two bright red concrete supports. Featuring classical European names such as Gauguin, Goya and Gainsborough, the museum also holds one of the largest collections of Brazilian and other Latin American artists on the continent.

“Famous artists and modern pieces”
Reviewed September 10, 2013

MASP, or Sao Paulo Museum of Art, is a beautiful place to visit. Its located at Paulista Avenue, a very beautiful and corwded avenue in Sao Paulo; The architecture is amazing, idealized by Assis Chateaubriand, and it has about 8,000 pieces. Some very famous, like Van Gogh and Monet, some very modern! Great place!

“Great museum, organized and for fast visits”
Reviewed September 9, 2013

Located in the heart of the financial district, the museum is a modern free standing structure with great and very important works of art. The entrance was around 8 USD at the time and you wont need to be there for more than 2 hours, as its not that big. It is also a great place to stop by when it's too hot and you feel like spending some time enjoying the air conditioned space without locking yourself down at the hotel!

“Beautiful Museum with eclétic art collection”
Reviewed September 4, 2013 via mobile

I have visited the museum on a thursday and it was reasonably empty with just some field art classes going on. I liked the permanent exhibition with paintings ranging from Monet to Modigliani. The special exhibit with Lucian Freud printings and paintings was magnificent! A must see! The building is well kept and spacious. The restaurant on the lowest level, is a little pricey with a nice buffet style serving. I would definitely say that is one of the best museums in Brazil!

“didnt enjoy unfortunately”
Reviewed August 28, 2013

the museum's collection was interesting to see (a lot of masterpiece!), but unfortunately I didn t enjoy the museum in general. I was expecting a beautiful and modern art museum. in fact, the interior of the building is unattractive, piece of art are hanging on a secondary wall. the atmosphere was therefore not nice! I visited the Pinacoteca museum on the same day and I was quiet more satisfied with it than with the MASP!
