Owner description: The emerald heart of an oftentimes gray city, São Paulo's Parque do Ibirapuera offers respite from the urban madness among cool, shady trees and mentally-stimulating structures. Running trails, bike paths, and yoga and capoeira sessions let locals and visitors alike keep fit, while a clutch of museums and galleries — such as the museums of Modern and Contemporary Art, all designed by master Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer — gives the brain a good workout. The impressive Museu Afro Brasil and fiery Auditório Ibirapuera are two of the park's treasures.

we visited the park on Sunday. please take a few hours because of all the possibilities to visit musea but also to picnic, skate, run, walk, bike etc. the parque is crowded with locals but still you experience more than enough privacy..

No matter if you want some piece and quite, or some sports action. This is a great green city escape on weekends.

We wandered down to see the MAC & MAN but the real highlight was the people and the games that they play, I have never seen so many people having such a great time, basketball games, soccer, skateboarding, bike riding, blading, badminton, volleyball, you name it people were having a great time doing it. The atmosphere was unbelievable a young man turned up with his turntable and speakers & set up beside the basketball court another started singing rap songs & the players danced whilst the played. The crowds were so friendly and there was so much play equipment for young children. A really wonderful place really awesome vibe, well done Sao Paulo People!!

Basically SP's Central Park. An urban green with lots of running paths and TONS of playgrounds an see-saws for kids. The best part is really the 2 museums on the grounds (Museu AfroBrasil and MAM), but if you arrive before they open like I did, a stroll around the ponds is a nice way to wake up in the morning.

It is unbelievable to take in the giant metropolis that is Sao Paulo. Even more impressive in this quiet space in the middle of it all. Ibirapuera Park has an amplitheater, Japanese Gardens, the Afro Brasil Museum and a plethora of meditation spaces. It's quiet and contemplative during the day, then active and full of endurance athletes at night. This is a must-stop on any and every visit to Sao Paulo.
