Owner description: The emerald heart of an oftentimes gray city, São Paulo's Parque do Ibirapuera offers respite from the urban madness among cool, shady trees and mentally-stimulating structures. Running trails, bike paths, and yoga and capoeira sessions let locals and visitors alike keep fit, while a clutch of museums and galleries — such as the museums of Modern and Contemporary Art, all designed by master Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer — gives the brain a good workout. The impressive Museu Afro Brasil and fiery Auditório Ibirapuera are two of the park's treasures.

Just liked every thing about it. This park is a combo for relaxation! Walk, cycle for exercise, treat your soul on the arts, and just sit around and listen to nature. To think it is in a mega city, and yet so peaceful.

Ibirapuera park is next to my house. It's one of the few green areas in the city. The best time to go is in the afternoon on a weekday (not so crowded). You can rent a bike or just walk around. Many dogs and pigeons..

It is a 15 minute walk from the hotel and has a lot of interesting museums to see, or just to enjoy a walk and see the Brazilians come out in thousands to walk, skate, ride, show off their muscles and bikinis ... worth a site to see and visit ...

This is a surprisingly tranquil place considering its location smack dab in the middle of downtown SP. What struck me most was the number of people there at night; the park was gated and extremely well lit, with security patrolling and stationed at all the entrances. Great place for a walk in the middle of the day or the evening.
