“Decent Value for business stay”
Reviewed October 15, 2011

I recently spent 5 nights at the Blue Tree for business travel.

The staff was helpful - especially with helping me through the language barrier of not speaking any Portuguese. The rooms, fitness center, breakfast buffet (included in room), and bar were all just average, however, adequate for my needs.

Important -- they do not have traditional iron and ironing boards in the rooms -- I had to use the express service to press my business shirts.

The location to the Market Center Mall (across the street) and downtown Sao Paulo was nice. There are also many great restaurants within a 5-10 minute cab ride.

I wasn't disappointed with the hotel, but also wasn't overly impressed with anything. On my next trip to Brazil I will continue to stay at the Blue Tree as the location is ideal for my business needs.

Its place in the region of Paulista Avenue, this hotel deserves positive. Apartments comfortable but simple, offering only the essentials: clean and tidy beds, bathroom with antique structure of rooms and amenities without excess (a soap, a shampoo, a pen ...). Staff courteous and helpful. Breakfast also without excesses, offering salad bar, pastries, fruit, juice, cheese etc., but the waiters do not serve us, just arrange the buffet and the tables. If you want something else, like an omelet, you have to pay out as well as other desires morning like fried eggs. Ah! The buffet breakfast also offers a menu of Oriental food, not proved, it does not know know if it is also charged separately!

I had a conference in August at the Fecomercio conference center (quite close to Fundacao Getulio Vargas business school). I was aware that hotel prices in Sao Paolo are high. I read various hotel reviews and selected Blue Tree Towers Paulista. The room was very good: standard business hotel, with queen size bed, closet, desk, mini bar and bathroom. It was spotlessly clean, quiet, and the lighting was really excellent. Shower power was good. The breakfast buffet was ok, as was the luncheon buffet. This is standard Brazilian fare (which means the coffee has no aroma or coffe taste but is otherwise a pleasant, hot beverage). This hotel is about 500 feet from the Avenida Paulista, and is just behind the art museum (MASP, locals say mass-p), a location everyone knows. It is within walking distance of the Fecomercio (although there is a steep hillrise to traverse). The stand out feature of this hotel are the extremely helpful front desk staff. All speak excellent English, are very polite and they try to meet all requests. The only negative were internet fees.

Staff was very helpful, the carpet in the rooms should be replaced (stayed in two rooms here). But I will say the staff was really very helpful making recommendations at great places to eat and were very patient with my language issues (I only speak english and a little spanish).

If I went back I might try a different place.

São Paulo hotels always have good rates for the weekends because it is a business city not a touristic one. Nowadays the hotel rates are high as everything else in Brazil. After a big research on the Internet, I decided to stay 2 nights at Blue Tree Towers Paulista because it had a good rate for weekends in July (vacation month in Brazil) and the breakfast was included: R$199,00.
It is well located, only a few meters from Paulista Avenue, just behind the MASP (Modern Art Museum) and near of many good restaurants, theatres and shops. It is a few blocks from Oscar Freire Street, where you can find luxury shops.
The rooms have a comfortable bed and a good shower and the breakfast is good and includes a Japanese buffet.
However I can`t recommend the room service. We ordered a snack that was supposed to arrive in 20 minutes but it was delivered only after 55 minutes, when we were leaving to a theatre and can`t have it anymore.

When we arrived we were placed in a floor where they were doing entire renovation work, it was like a war zone, dust everywhere and heavy pounding. We immediately called and were relocated to another room. You cannot accommodate guests in areas that are being renovated, that is a safety hazard (perhaps not in Brazil, but all over the US and Europe it is). I thought this was cheap and I felt sorry for the other guests who did not complain and had to endure this torture.

Rooms are basic at best and I think this is a three start hotel that barely gets there. The fitness center has a smurf sized pool, old fitness equipment, and overpriced massage spa.

Close to avenida paulista and all the expensive restaurants in the area where a soup might fare $20.

Sao Paulo is chaos of traffic and smog. If you can go to other areas of Brazil that would be better.

Room Tip: Do not stay in a floor with construction crew!

I stayed at the Blue Tree for a business trip.

The hotel is well located, very close to Avenida Paulista. The staff was friendly and helpful. There weren't very good restaurants at walk distance but the front desk clerks would call minivans from "currascarias" to pick you up if needed.

The room was average. There was internet connection but no wifi. I did not have any meals other than breakfast at their restaurant. Breakfast was good though.

Although this hotel was good for business I would not recommend it for families.
