Mercure Sao Paulo JK
Ranked #163 of 326 Hotels in Sao Paulo
Reviewed November 20, 2013

The main feature of this hotel is the location. Near Congonhas Airport and several places, including shoppings, restaurants, and so on. It is a regular hotel, clean, with a good breakfast. Room service acceptable but lacking quality. Rooms are spacious, with a living room and a bedroom, a small kitchen (microwave and coffee maker however no cutlery available), the bathroom could be better as is small and old. The bed is very narrow, difficult to sleep for a couple. The staff was very nice letting us know that the construction site in front of the hotel was working 24/7, so they offered us a room at the back of the hotel to be more quiet. And it was quieter, but we heard a lot of noise. Do stay there if you need to be around, otherwise go somewhere else.

Room Tip: Stay at the back to be on the quieter side.

The lobby of the hotel and the rooms are fine. The bathrooms are very poorly maintained and are very old. The staff at the front desk are not very friendly and do not speak much english. Infact some of them do not speak at all.

Althought I have stayed at this hotel many times and the quality is worth its value, now it has 3 construnction sites right across the street. One of them is a demolition site which is very noisy. One morning the trucks began to load debris at 5 AM, impossible to sleep.
Although the hotel tells that it's not their fault, unfortunately it affect the quality of the stay. They could have take advantage of the event and changed all of their windows with noise proof windows.
For the time being until the demolition is over, I do not recoomend this hotel.

The room was good. Not too noisy. The location is perfect for what I needed. A park nearbij for running and a Shopping Mall in front. It is not excelent but good for the price (compared to other hotels in Sao Paulo this is o good deal.

Hotel is well located with walking dstance from Sao Paolo business center in the vila olympia quarters. The personel is kind although most of them are not conversant in english. The construction activities currently taking place adjacent to the hotel make it a bit uncomfortable, double glazing would have helped a lot to reduce the sound level in the rooms that are facing the construction site.
The plumbing needs to be upgraded because toilet smell is perceptible in the room

Breakfast is good
