“Good Hotel”
Reviewed April 25, 2013

Hotel well located near Av Paulista. The room is nice a little small for the standard Mercure. The internet is great! Take a look around of the neighborhood has some good restaurants. Nerver choose the last floor 14, you will have a gym noises very early.

Room Tip: Never choose the 14 has a Gym at you head. :D

I was surprised by the affordable offering of this hotel on a recent 2-night stay in São Paulo. It is located on the perimeter of the impressive Jardins neighbourhood, within walking distance of the Iberapuera recreational park. The closest metro is Brigadeiro, which is about a 15-minute uphill walk, and a further 5 minutes is the Shopping Pátio Paulista, which offers a decent variety of shops and eating options. Bear in mind that a return taxi-trip from the International Aiport Guarulhos will set you back about US$100! The upmarket Pão de Azuçar supermarket is a 5-minute walk away.

The hotel is simple yet elegant and functional. The comfortable min-apartment has a separate bedroom and a small but adequate en-suite bathroom. A writing desk, comfy chair, micro oven and coffee making facilities are available as well. A fair breakfast is offered for an extra US$10.

For me the biggest drawback was the noise from adjacent rooms, especially noise from running water. The front-desk staff are erratic. I was fortunate to have mostly good service and managed to acquire a late check-out at no extra charge. However, one of the staff members offered to give me information which I am still waiting for!

Room Tip: Rooms on the higher floors are probably more quiet. Ask for another room key so that you can keep th...

Hotel is nicer than photographs on website. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff was efficient and courteous. This is not a luxury hotel with slippers and robes in the room. But it is a good value.

Only complaint is that the hotel is about a 25 minute walk or R$15 cab ride from the heart of Jardims neighborhood. I was staying with my wife and young child and, in retrospect, would have paid a bit more to stay closer to center of Jardims.

With super spacious rooms (bedroom and living room for all) and a fabulous location in one of Sao Paulo's best neighbourhoods (Jardins), this is easily one of the best cost-benefit hotels in Sao Paulo. Mind you, it's not close to the Metro, but with free wifi and Googlemaps now providing bus travel information, even those wanting to avoid taxis will be well-served.

Ask for a room facing the Ibirapuera park for lovely views of not only the park but also of the lush Jardins neighbourhood, a tree-covered house-only anomaly of an area in high-rise dominated Sao Paulo.

We weren't too impressed by the breakfast, which for Brazilian standards lacks a bit of quality, but the service was excellent, and the room service sandwiches are very good value.

We found the bathroom and room very clean, the shower excellent with a very strong water flow, and the bed large but not amazing, as it's a standard spring mattress which bounces a little bit when your partner moves around... The only other real improvement point for the hotel would be to improve the pool and gym area, which have a very abandoned and poorly-kept feel to them.

The hotel is in a very good area, quite close to Avenida Paulista, where you can easily get the tube or buses.
Breakfast is very good, with many variaties and all the attendants are very kind and helpful.
The only 3 bad points were: the swimming pool/ sauna area was quite desert and did not look very confortable (the swimming pool is very clean and with a good view though, just looks cold); the shower area inside the room could be cleaner; there is a construction site beside the hotel, but they only start working after 8am and the hotel sound isolation is very good if you have the windows closed.
