Novotel Morumbi is a very god business hotel....not too far from the financial disctrict and/ or important shopping areas. There is no shops, restaurants or entertainment within walking distance of the hotel, but by taxy everything is very close. The hotel has a nice bar, good restaurant, etc. One thing that stands out is that the hotel, rooms etc are extremely clean and well maintained. Rooms and bathrooms are a bit small, but I still recommend this hotel to other business travelers. Wifi in the hotel is very good.

Stayed here for 2 nights on business in early June. Nice lobby and surrounding outside area and pool - did not feel closed in at all. Rooms very nice - the bed was very comfortable. Very nice breakfast buffet (included) - they also had made to order omelettes. Also had some dinner in the restaurant - food was very good and reasonably priced. This Novotel was almost directly across the river from the Hilton Sao Paulo Morumbi (I have also stayed there), However, the Novotel is about USD $200 less per night! I paid R$ 330, about USD $150 (my corporate rate). Parking per night only ~ USD $8. So if you want to stay in a nice reasonably priced business hotel, and can handle being across the river from the Hilton, stay at the Novotel.

The Novotel Morumbi was a very pleasant surprise for me during my recent business trip to Sao Paulo (June 2nd to 6th). Like other readers I had chosen this hotel due to its proximity to my company's office in Morumbi, but also because the more centrally-located hotels were either sold out or prohibitively expensive (ie, $650/night in the case of the Sheraton).

Having stayed in other Accor brand hotels (this French hospitality company is the parent of Sofitel, Mercure and Novotel), I was prepared to expect a very small hotel room (by US standards) and thus was not shocked upon entering my room (361). As other reviewers have noted the toilet is separate from the shower (on the upside the configuration is such that you do get two sinks); amenities are provided by the very nice Brazilian brand, Natura (a personal favorite of mine although I did miss the inclusion of a moisturizer - the hotel provides soap, shampoo and conditioner but no shower gel or moisturizer). The hardwood laminate floors are actually quite comfortable - to be honest, what was disconcerting was the stained blue hallway carpet, which had several strange white blotches throughout the length of the third floor.

The biggest drawback to the room - and this seems to be an Accor "thing" - was the fact that it had two twin beds. I know of no other hotel chain that provides, in this day and age, twin beds - it's frankly bizarre, especially as a hotel like the Novotel Morumbi is frequented primarily by business travelers, not families on vacation (that said an interesting touch was a small children's playroom off the main lobby, which is little-used as far as I could tell).

On a plus side the beds are quite comfortable, towels are quite nice (ie not scratchy), and the water pressure in the shower was very good (with plenty of hot water). WiFi coverage was strong with no access issues. The room's flat screen TV carried major international channels and - to my relief - returned to the same channel one had left off on when turned back on; you weren't brought back to an annoying hotel home screen as is the case in the Starwood hotels, which I frequent.

The hotel breakfast, which was included in the price of my room, was good (a colleague had a cooked-to-order omelet that she claimed was delicious), with a wide selection of cheeses/cold cuts, fruits, breads, yoghurts and juices.

There is a small gym off of the lobby (right next to the children's playroom) with the typical array of machines - just remember to bring sunglasses, or be prepared to change machines if you don't want to be blinded by the sun reflecting off a nearby building's windows. The gym has a nice view of the outside pool. On the downside wipes were not provided but small towels and water were.

One of the nicest features about the Novotel Morumbi is its very airy, expansive, light-filled lobby. At night the hotel's exterior is illuminated with attractive purple lights (in an attempt to up the chic factor, I think).

The hotel has several Apple computers in the lobby for guest use (the first 20 minutes are free), but boarding passed cannot be printed out without sending them as an email attachment to the hotel's front desk staff (somewhat annoying, but again this seems to be an Accor thing).

Location is not great for walking proximity to restaurants, however taxis are readily available and within 10 minutes you can be in the very large Shopping Morumbi mall, which has a very large variety of dining options.

In sum: I would return to the Novotel Morumbi for business but would beg them to give me a room with a queen-sized bed (which they do have as one colleague in a group of 5 of us did luck into this more comfortable accommodation).

I had no choice but to stay at this hotel during a business trip to Sao Paulo in April 2014, as all hotels across the river (in the more business center) were sold out. However, I must commend on the level of accommodation and service the Novotel offered during my four day stay.
The only major drawback was the location. Since the neighborhood was not ideal, it is recommended to take a taxi if leaving the hotel even for a few blocks. Other than that, accommodation and service was good for the price.
The rooms were comfortable, but certainly dated. The pool area and promenade view were good highlights. The restaurant food and service was very good as well. The gym was adequate.
If I have the choice again, I'd consider a hotel across the river next time. If you're budget conscious, this one is good.
