Description: Marcos Bassi, son of Italian, grew up in the neighborhood of Bras, downtown Sao Paulo. His history with the meat started early, at age eight, when selling beef kids in the neighborhood where he lived. After a few years, Mark and his mother Mafalda, acquired a space in the Municipal Market of Sao Paulo. Worked hard there, to acquire the butcher Mr Prachedes in Humaita Street, already in the neighborhood of Bixiga and transform the Meat House Bassi, where met the rich immigrant city, as a structure, quality and customer care services. Gradually managed to implement a barbecue in the Meat House so they could test for over there even their creations. It was when they started selling sandwiches and Store cuts already baked. The history of prime meat was born there, along with the story of Marcos Bassi, just to differentiate the quality and price of products Marcos Bassi. In 1978 born the "Meat Slaughtering Central Noble Bassi" on May 13th Street, now with a special place to serve some people with their tastings of special breeds and cuts. The desgutacoes did so successfully, that a year later came the steak house in the same place where today the work of Meat Temple facilities. Throughout life, Marcos Bassi learned in practice all about cuts and other technical details such as blood supply, softness and texture. As a craftsman, his hands left cuts enshrined as Candy, made from the rump kernels, and the steak butcher. Also pioneered the vacuum process and meat maturation in Brazil The Temple of meat is then perpetuates as a result of 50 years of a life, invested and dedicated to specialty Bassi: meat. And with the technique learned with Marcos Bassi, born Marcos Bassi culture, ensuring that tradition continues at the Temple of Meat. Come visit us.

Among A La Cart meat restaurants in Sao Paulo I would rank it the best. Sausage as a starter is recommended and very tasty. The main courses are awesome quality and always cooked at the point ordered. Some option serve more than a person...I love Chorizo and Fraldinha! Careful with the side dishes since they are expensive and not special. ''Couvert'' is not recommended too. Service is very good and ambiance is nice.

If you want meat a la carte in other words not rodizio style, don't miss Bassi. Service is efficient and the ambience is very agreeable. It is always busy and they don't take reservations but it is worth the wait. Try the grilled heart of palm. It is the best I have had.
The surrounding area is quite interesting too. It is the old Italian district.

We have same problem as another reviewer (Grant), they over charge for buffet 48.58 and desert 15.00. Both of them we did not have. We went last night for one carpaccio, one T bone,
One bom bom with potato for side dish and just one coffee, we happy with couvert 19.80 each, our white wine montes alp 108.00 and red wine montes alp 115.00. Total our bill was 534.00. We like their meat but this make me worry to go this place again. VERY DISAPPOINTED.

This is a great house to enjoy good meat. Try the Bisteca Fiorentina, the Prime Rib, the Olho de Bife or the Picanha. I tasted all of these in my several visits to the place.

Went here on a saturday for lunch.. waited 20 mins for our table and then simply had the best meat ever.
The Picanha was amazing, there is nothing much to say.
Definitely planning to go back soon ;-)
