An old train station turned a state-of-the-art theater. Sala Sao Paulo was built inside the old Sorocabana station, where trains used to arrive from the interior of the state of Sao Paulo bringing all sorts of people carrying their few belongings and their last hopes. The entire station has been cleaned and restaured to its end-of-XIX-century beauty. Within the station you'll find a modern cafe and the beautiful, and accoustically flawless, Sala Sao Paulo. It is worth the visit, especially to listen to music - free on many Sundays.

This has to be one of the world's best concert halls, both in terms of acoustics and decor. Located in what was originallly a railway station, who says you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear? I often vist to hear international artists and orchestras.

I played in this hall, and it is one of the most amazing concert halls I've ever played in! Great acoustics, beautiful architecture like something out of a picture book.
