Was my first time in the restaurant. As appetizers they recomended the carpaccio so we asked one and another octopus carpaccio.

Really great. Ambience helps and yes is not a big restaurant but is not tiny.

Great option if you are in Sao Paulo at Jardins area.

Gero is a regular Italian restaurant that should be a bistrot but it is very expensive for what it offers unfortunately. The food is Northern Italian and quite good but does not value what they charge for it. Gero has a nice wine list very pricy too. It is always full and do not take reservations to dinner after 8:00 pm

Dropped into Gero (highly recommended by friends) for the first time the other day (end-July 2012). The restaurant appears to have de-camped, probably temporarily, to the ground floor of the hotel. Basically, a long row of tables placed along a wall, paralleled by a self-serve salad bar. Low sofas on one side of the tables required two cushions to bring average size lady companion up to table height. Most irritating. Brisk service. Staff pleasant and accommodating. The food, frankly, nothing to rave about. We had their lemon dover sole (mine was dry). Every table was occupied by 'business' people, or at least people engaged in some kind of business. I overheard every word of a hot deal being finalized two tables down from us. There must be better places for ordinary visitors to São Paulo to spend R$130 per person (without wine) in.

very crowded and harried service. A place to see and be seen. Not as popular as when it first opened.

I live in Sao Paulo City and this is without any doubt the best restaurant for Italian food in Sao Paulo.
Over there you will find the best maitre in Our city, Marcelo.
Beautifull place, quiet, amazinfg food and great selection of wines.
