“Dodgy location at night”
Reviewed September 15, 2012

Plus points, its very central and the airport bus drops you off outside the door. It is easy to walk up to the center and tehre are cafes and bars about. On a weekend there are loads of clubs on the door step, but with that brings the night time dregs and i was stepping over beggars and drunks to try and get into the bank ATM which was a little worrying. During the week tehre is tumble weed blowing down the street by night ( not quite ) Noise can be heard from the other rooms at night so if your a light sleeper not so good. Room was clean and the bed comfortable and for the price was OK. No service on a weekend and ngiht time staff are not up to much.

I've stayed in Hotel Moncloa from Apr 9th ~ 14th for business. I can tell you from my personal experience, their manager / reception staff members provide the best services and I couldn't have asked for anymore. I love their free breakfast and freshly brewed coffee for breakfast. They also serve free coffee after two in the lobby - a very nice touch in my opinion.

Their hotel is well-maintained and rooms are clean & fresh and within walking distance to Av. Paulista and to the newer side of the city. Hotel Moncloa is a great hotel and suits my business trip well. I will book at this hotel again if I am ever in Sao Paulo.

服務優質 客氣 5星級的服務但只需要3星級的價格 真的物超所值 . 地點離我參加的會場非常接近 真的提供了一個很棒的場所.

Sincerely,
Yao Peng Chang

Located only about a kilometer off Av. Paulista, the Hotel Moncloa is a very nice budget hotel. The public areas are spotlessly clean, spacious and comfortable, however, the breakfast room is a bit cramped, but works nonetheless. Breakfast itself is simple, but exactly what you expect from budget accommodations, and more than enough to get your day started.

Our accommodation was roomy, but the bathroom itself was a bit small; the shower stall was large, had plenty of hot water and good pressure. The room and linens were clean, but there were a couple of small maintenance issues, including a cracked shelf. The closet was a huge walk-in with an automatic light, a floor-length mirror and plenty of space for your luggage and hanging items.

During our 3 night stay we had the opportunity to interact with front desk staff on several occasions, they could not have been more helpful! Taxi service, restaurant recommendations, directions to a nearby pharmacy were all provided with a very helpful attitude!

I will definitely recommend Hotel Moncloa to others and should our travel plans call for a return to Sao Paulo I will definitely put them at the top of the consideration list!

We were first shocked by the surroundings of the of the hotel, run down houses full of graffiti, sex shops and night clubs. The hotel itself, however, was OK for the price we paid. The reception desk staff was very helpful and spoke good English. The walls are paper thin and therefore nights are noisy. Although the hotel is on the "bad side" of Rua Augusta, we got used to it and actually found the location good between Ave. Paulista and the old centre, all within walking distance. There is a modern shopping centre just one block away. Tourist services, like city tours, are poorly organized in Sao Paulo and very expensive.

This hotel was the big suprise for me. Because facilities and service was excellent. But if you pay more attention to decoration, you can say easily this is fith class hotel.

Adavantages:
1. Very wide rooms,
2. Big balcony,
3. Very big wardrobe (Like dressing room along with mirror and seperate door),
4. Good breakfast,
5. Free and fast internet connection,
6. Sufficient minibar,
7. Big bed and good sleep,
8. Very friendly, helpfull and "Smiling" stuff,
9. Shuttle facility to airport just from the gate of the hotel,
10. Close to Avenida Paulista,
11. Ofcourse very good room rate.

Disadvantages:
1. Very old, narrow and slow lift,
2. Bad decoration,
3. Poor bathroom.

But at the end of the day, I like the hotel..:)) It was very satisfactory.

Despite giving it only 3 out of 5 this was better than average. It was clean and well decorated. The location was not bad but the there are a few seedy looking establishments down the road. Our room was modern and suited us fine, we were here for one night as a stopping point at the start of our Brazil trip. One of the members of staff on reception was really friendly and helpful unfortunately I have forgotten his name. There are no common areas except for a sofa in the lobby where we loitered until our flight out in the evening.
