“A temple of beer.”
Reviewed May 1, 2012

Pinguin is the traditional house of beer in Ribeirao Preto. No risks, good appetizers and safe localization. Choose the Pinguin in the Ribeirao mall, because is safer, bigger and confortable.
Go alone, with friends and family. It is a good choice.

Aks the "garotinho" cup. Garotinho is the size of the cup, little. Probably you'll drink a dozen of them.

You could drink a good caipirinha. Please do not drink a cheap pinga. Ask a good pinga or cachaça like the blends Espirito de Minas, Nega Fulô or Armazem Viera or Germana.

To eat ask a appetizer " filé com Queijo" ( beef with chease). A sandwich cutted in small pieces.

Dont forget to reserve a taxi to your way back to your Hotel.

“Just History”
Reviewed March 24, 2012

Really nobody goes to a Museum to take beer, this house is full of history but now is just a brand with no link with the old one.

“A must see (and drink)”
Reviewed December 22, 2011

The central (and original) Pinguim lives up to its tradition. Excelent beer mugs and good appetizers. Piece de resistance is the gold beer, but why not try one of the suggestions that mix gols and brown beer in different proportions?

“Tourist Trap?”
Reviewed December 14, 2011

Pinguim may just have became a tourist trap. Due its popularity in Ribeirão, one may find long queue lines in the Centre. Drinks are average at best, but food is good.
Since it does not have many waiters, service is often lacks attention.
Although Pinguin at Mall may not have the same back-in-time atmosphere as Pinguin Centre, it usually have more seats and better service.
