“Decent Airport Hotel”

GOL put us here for a night due to a cancelled flight including all meals. The dinner and breakfast buffets were pretty good, missed lunch as we went into town. There is a bus station nearby and you can get bus 552 to Armenia Metro Station and then use the metro to get around, we went to the zoo and then the Sunday craft market at Praca da Republica. Room was decent, clean and had free wifi which is basically all I need from an airport hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful, told us how to use the local bus.

Hotel close to the airport. Fine for one night stay. They do have an airport shuttle bus that leaves the hotel on the hour. We arrived too late at night so shuttle bus was not running. We took a taxi. Room small but clean. We had an early morning flight to Rio the following morning so we decided on this hotel. Hotels in Brazil quite expensive.

Arrived at hotel tired after an 18 hour trip, it has been the longest check in of my life.Firstly, my booking was not in their system even though I had booked months ahead. They had already charged my credit card half the amount, one month prior to my stay. This was also not in their system, and they wanted to charge me the full amount. It was suggested I had stayed here the month prior and that's what that charge was for. I told them to check my passport for entries into Brazil. Avoid this hotel

This is an airport hotel. Only reason to stay here is closeness of Sao Paolo Guarulhos airport. This hotel is far from everything else so if you are on a holiday, go somewhere else.

Breakfast cost extra. Elevator didn't work. Rooms door didn't stay closed.

I had booked Hotel Matiz for late arrival on a prepaid, non cancelable basis. Our flight from Foz Iguassu was canceled and we had to stay in Foz Iguassu for the night, but our next flight wasn't until 9pm from GRU. I called Hotel Matiz to explain we wouldn't be arriving until 9am the following morning and asked them to keep the room for us. The desk clerk was very helpful and his English was a lot better than my Portuguese but I wasn't sure what the situation would be upon our arrival.

When we arrived they immediately changed the rate of the room to a day rate, which was less than the rate I had already areed to pay, also meaning we could stay in the room until we needed to leave for our 9pm flight - perfect!

The room was fine - clean and comfortable but it was the service that really impressed us.

Check-in was terrible : no eye contact, endless verifications, rude receptionist named Ester with an attitude who made no effort to speak English which is at least what I can expect from a so-called 4-star international airport hotel. I was about to leave to the Hyatt when another front desk agent miraculously poped up. This one named Anita was polite and professional.

The room we occupied was the regular type of room you can find in any international airports middle range hotels. The major issue was the noise thanks to an absolutely inefficient sound insulation from the landing airplanes literally flying some 150 feet above the hotel roof!
No need to explain why the sleep quality is pretty bad at this property.

Check-out was expedited promptly the next morning and the shuttle was on time to take us to the very close GRU airport.

At USD125 or EUR86 it was way too expensive even by Brazilians standards.

We were put here by LAN Airlines as we had missed the connection due to the ash from the Chilean volcano.

Found the room adequate, more or less Ibis grade, with an average bed and mid-size room.

The food at the restaurant was served buffet-style and was good - no complaints. We found the staff very friendly, even bringing up an extra serving of dessert when my girlfriend asked someone for it.

The hotel has a frequent shuttle to the airport which is handy.

The place is right under the flight path of one of the runways so if they use that runway you get to see quite a few planes flying over quite low. Noise insulation is good however and we were not bothered by the planes at all when inside the room.

Overall and adequate hotel. Nothing special, but nothing wrong with it either. And very friendly staff, which is why I rate it four stars rather than three.
