Faced with an overnight layover in São Paolo you have a choice- battle the traffic of such a large city or stay within 15/20 minutes of the airport. We chose the latter which was a good decision.
Staying at the Monreale satisfied the task but that's about all. It's clean but 'pretty basic' and in a neighborhood that may make some a little anxious at night. There are some alternative hotels in the same location and if needed I choose another.
There again I'd try hard to avoid the layover.

I choose to stay at this hotel based on other people review. They had great reviews but I am always a bit skeptical. We had a 14 hours connection in Guarulhos International Airport and we needed a place to stay. The reception area is not great but it is ok. The room was very good and clean, spacious, nice bathroom, no complains at all. It was a good surprise. We had a lot of baggage and they stored them for us. Nice shuttle service back to the airport. Very good restaurant with late service. 24 hours room service. Great Brazilian Breakfast. So, I would recommend to anyone who needs to stay in this city.

Room tip: Call to schedule a shuttle pick up at the airport in advance.

We had come to Sao Paolo on an international flight, and were flying out to Iguaçu falls by early flight the next morning. What we wanted in Sao Paolo was a transit hotel, where we could rest after a 16-hour flight. Monreale Hotel turned out to be just the kind of hotel we wanted.

We had expected the hotel to be very close to the airport, but it turned out that we had to ride for about 25 minutes. Also, the complimentary airport shuttle was not well co-ordinated at the airport end, and we had to take a cab to reach the hotel.

The room and the service at the hotel were good. Breakfast, which was included in our package, was ready at 6:00 AM, owing to our early flight schedule; and was very good. The shuttle to the airport was also organized in time.

Close to the airport. but the shuttle is hourly, had to wait about 30 minutes for it.

The food in the dinner is really good, price is ok too.

the wifi was quite terrible, i wish it was faster, couldnt talk on the phone with the family.

Stayed here one night and partial day awaiting a return flight home.
Positively, one of the reception staff spoke excellent English and this rapidly sped up our check in of four people when we arrived late at night.

We had single rooms each which were small but perfectly fine with strong A/C units and TV that featured some English channels like BBC and CNN. Shower has excellent water pressure and there was lots of power outlets.

Unfortunately the wifi was patchy at times and the room was quite noisy with people coming and going at all hours in the hallways outside, although I guess this is to be expected given its close proximity to the airport.

Breakfast is included and takes place in the large dining room with great views of the city below. Coffee, juice, cold cuts, fruit, cereal, eggs, sausages, and Brazilian pastries. Nothing amazing but it did the job. Fruit was fresh and nice.

Location is ok - there is a multitude of Brazilian stores and street stalls up and around the corner, although we couldn't find the supermarket. Felt safe as there was a security unit set up in the middle of the street.

Airport shuttle was excellent - we booked it the nigh before and it arrive on time with no hassles. We were able to store our bags at reception before we caught the shuttle.

Fine for a short layover but I wouldn't stay longer.
