Casa Grande in Portuguese means big house, big farmhouse.
And keeping with the theme of a big farm, the main hotel building looks like this imposing colonial palace on a tropical plot.
The colonial theme is carried throughout the lobby, common areas, specially in the beautifully appointed restaurant where the excellent buffet breakfast is served.
Rooms are extremely comfortable and large - with all modern amenities. Rooms with a balcony overlooking the internal courtyard are very charming and quieter (as compared to our friend's room overlooking the street).
One would think that this big resort would feel busy and noisy. However, they have done it so well, separating sports courts from pools from conference rooms with trees and bushes given a more intimate feeling, and more peaceful.
There is a completely separate area for children: with a pool, playground, etc far from the hotel rooms and main pool.
Apart from bar and restaurants in the main building, hotel has another bar/Thai restaurant on the promenade, which guests can visit by just crossing the street on way to the beach.
The service is outstanding - from reception to waiting staff.
