“Good hotel”
Reviewed May 18, 2013

We spent just a night at the hotel, our exectutive apartment was large and clean. The staff was helpful (the first room we were assigned had some kind of problem with one of the light switches and the bellboy went to the reception and brought the keys to another room on the same floor).

Breakfast is good. There are some restaurants at the ground level and a bakery a block from the hotel where you can grab a bite. There isn't much to do around though. Internet is not that fast.

Like every other hotel in Brazil, it is a little pricey.

My visit to Campinas was for business purposes and in doing so, Vitoria Hotel was perfect. I liked the charm and very unique decor of the hotel, from the restaurants to the lobby area, a charming loft library, the ground floor area where the elevators were, which were decorated with unique caricature statues.

The rooms were clean, large, spacious and elegantly decorated. It almost felt like it was stuck in a past era, but with all the modern amenities. Bedding was crisp and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was basic, however the shower was spacious and had a great big rain shower head - which I like!

I used the hotels conference facilities for an evening presentation. Although the room was small, plain white walls and not much more than a room to do a presentation in, it was sufficient for my needs. Staff were efficient and friendly.

There is a long swimming pool and a pretty well equipped gym.

Breakfast was ample.

I would definitely recommend the Vitoria Hotel in Campinas - and should I ever return to Campinas, will stay here again!

Visiting Campinas in Brazil is sort of like coming to the US and visiting, say, Columbus, Ohio. It is a pleasant and friendly place but certainly not a tourist Mecca! That said, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, and this hotel was a large part of the reason. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious, plenty of gorgeous fruit including papaya, pineapple, and mango. The fitness center is well equipped and maintained and spotlessly clean. Staff speaks good English and is very friendly. Business conference rooms were nice. Across the street is a pretty park that felt quite safe for a daytime walk with a companion. All good, I don't understand the negative reviews I have seen here. Service in the bar a little slow, that's the only bad thing I can think of

Room Tip: Rooms at front will have a nice view of the park. My room at the back had a nice view of the city.

You will not find any American or Eropean chain hotels in this smaller Brazilian city called Campinas. The Vitoria Hotel is a very simple hotel with clean and reasonably sized rooms. Bathroom are equipped with oversized rainfall showers but no tub. Each rooms ( based on my previous stayin the hotel) have minibars and a small refrigerator. Daily breakfast is included but the location is very small and can get extremely crowded at 7:30 to 8:30 in the morning. Try walking to the outside patio or reserve space (hidden around the corner at the far end of the room to the right) when it is peak hours. The hotel has two excellent restaurants, Italian and Japanese both have great food. Actually Brasil has excellent Japanese food due to the large popular of Japanese in the region. The hotel is located in the downtown city area which is considered to be the most popular and desired area of the city to live. Safety is always a concern in Brasil, crime is big problem. Always travel in groups and preferrably with someone who is local to the region

The hotel also includes a large conference room facility which I have not used personally but I have notice many local companies holding large sales or international conferences in the hotel.

Vitoria was a most pleasant stay in Campinas. The bed rooms were surprisingly commodious. A great bed, plenty of space, clean, quiet, good air conditioning - most comfortable. The staff was pleasant and helpful though English was a bit limited. The breakfast (included with the room) is substantial, but to an American who is looking for healthy options everything is white, refined, and sweetened (even the prunes), which seems to be the typical Brazilian diet. And they do have a great exercise room with a variety of machines and free weights.

Worth a stay.

I have stayed in this hotel several times. On each occasion the staff have always been helpful with service and displaying friendliness. The added bonus is that their command of English was high which helps when an Englishman arrives who cannt speak or understand Portuguese!
The rooms are spacious and comfortable and typically with wooden floors which I prefer. The internet was not very fast and kept dropping which is a big disadvantage for the business traveller. The location was very good and also includes an integral Japanese restaurant which is of high food quality. Air conditioning worked well and bathroom amenities were adequate. As an all rounder it is good for the business traveller but that internet issue is bothersome.

Room Tip: Try and get a front facing room. The rear ones generally face on to office buildings

We use this property for company staff while in the Campinas area. The staff is mostly bilingual (for us English-speakers) and polite, if not a little distant. The two restaurants (Japanese and Italian) are quite good, with consistent food quality/presentation/service -- a place where I'm happy to eat at or take customers to. And the included breakfast, while high on carbs, is adequate.

But where it's lacking is guestroom comfort. The in-room HVAC is woefully undersized, with poor fan output and temperature control. The king bed is two twins with a center connector so you have to sleep on one side or the other, plus contend with the "center ridge". The bathroom amenities are spare -- basic shampoo/conditioner and a SINGLE bar of soap.

Very average hotel, just not what a hotel in this price range should be providing.
