First the highlight -- location, location, location! Quiet neighborhood, excellent choices of restaurants around and safe area.

Hotel maintenance is poor to average -- my first day in the room, the air conditioner started leaking water. They were prompt in fixing it. But, then in the middle of the night the air conditioner stopped working and the room became like an oven. They moved me to what appeared to me the worst available room. It appears they start assigning rooms from the worst available on up. My second room was in the corner by the exit stair, close to the service elevator (the hotel was not full!). It was clear that this room had not been used in a while -- it smelled musty and the towels had an odd odor (it appeared that this room had been put together from parts left over from other rooms). The caulking in the bathroom was cracked and gross, bathroom door didn't latch, water stains on the ceiling, sink that wouldn't drain, etc. Towels, while clean, are kinda thin and grey. Housekeeping staff is excellent -- kept the room, bed, linen and sheets very clean. My thanks to them!

The management -- very arrogant and inflexible. I was on business travel and called two weeks prior to my visit to confirm that my corporate rate included breakfast (our corporate website shows breakfast as included). On check-in they refused to include breakfast. I am not a breakfast eater so, it didn't matter, but they refused to even provide a coffee maker ("the coffee maker cannot be serviced on that floor!").

Room Tip: Rooms facing the back have a nice city view.

The hotel is well situated in the heart of Cambui, many different restaurants and night clubs around in just few blocks away. Rooms and hotel's area daily clean as expected. Room service and staff service generally good. Unfortunately there are few downturns about this hotel. First is internet connection, unless you pay extra you will not be able to get 512kbit and often my mobile 3G connection is faster! Secondly, hotel doesn't provide simple thing such a electric kettle is which is very disappointing. Thirdly, fitness center is way to small with the limited equipment and simply can't serve enough people. Outdoor swimming pool is a very good size but it doesn't get clean often. Perhaps if you stay here just few days or no longer than 1-2 weeks you will not notice any of above.

Tryp is an excellent choice for leisure or business stay. I have stayed there at least 5 time during the last 7 years. I stay there due to the excellent service, staff, and breakfast. It is the best or one of the best in Campinas, I highly recommend this to anyone traveling to Campinas.

This is very clean hotel in a well situated area of the city. Walking in this area is comfortable with many upscale condominiums and apartments. The meals are good quality and value. Breakfast had enough choices to suit all taste. Saff friendly and helpful. Gym well equiped nad pool a good size.

Room Tip: I was located at the front of the hotel, it was quiet and the temperature setting was very comfortab...

Tryp Campinas is not a fancy hotel, but it offers great value for your money. The location could not be better, in the middle of Cambui, the city most up scale neighborhood, walking distance from great restaurants. The rooms are nice and very clean with a ok bathroom. The down side is the free internet, 512 kbps...really! If you want better connections, it's charged. My kids had a great time at the pool! All in all, a great option for short stays in Campinas.
