Since about 6 years I travel regulary to Joinville. Every time I try to include a dinner at Sopp to eat one portion of the fabulous Hackepeter (German beef tartar) and the quality and taste is always fantastic. The beer is cold and the service top-notch. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere. A real experience not to be missed in Joinville!

One of the very few options for a good restaurant in Joinville, Sopp stands in the same place offering good, honest, regular food and courteous, prompt service for more than 20 years. The menu's backbone is the German cuisine, but complemented by international cuisine options, as well, from fish, thru pasta and steaks. The hackpeter (German beef tartar), a must-order, is unbeatable. Don't afford to miss it while there. Prices are somewhat above the average, but coherent and far from being outrageous likely some other resto-bars in town. In the winter a fire place, in the main room, keep the whole environment comfortable while adding a special touch. Sit outside in warmer times. Good local beer and a regular, but pricey, wine list available.

Sopp is our go-to place for a quality dinner on any day of the week (except Monday when it is closed). It is probably our favorite restaurant in the city. The decor is old world, spacious, and inviting. Very high ceilings on the inside. There is a cozy, rounded nook that has maybe 7 or 8 tables that is the most intimate space in the dining area. There is also a huge, covered outdoor seating area, but we always sit inside.

There are a lot of traditional German items on the menu, including eisbein and hackepeter. There are also some more mainstream dishes. All items are good or great. Wonderful selection of beers, and a decent wine list too. Service is EXCELLENT. Prices are reasonable.
