I drove there to spend a couple of hours but after 30 min I had done! It is a very tiny place with a couple of restaurants, famous for being the point of arrival of the portugueses in the 16th century. There is only a small beach. It is worth a derouting but don't plan for a day.

by far my favorite place in Floripa that is not a beach. there are great restos in this little town. and there are also great "local" shops - crafts, etc... a little town with a ton of flavour.

One of the most charming districts of Florianópolis attracts many visitors not for the beaches (which are unfit for swimming), but because of the view at sunset and the many excellent restaurants in the area. Enjoy the architecture of Portuguese colonization and stroll through the shops, galleries and cafes. Go to the next neighborhood called Cacupé by the "Rota Gastronômica do Sol Poente" (Gastronomic Route of the Setting Sun) to find even more great restaurants.

This is one of the most charming districts of Florianopolis, whitch has vast options of seafood restaurants. The preserved colonial archtecture is also a must see

This is where the Portugueses used to ship their gold across the Atlantic like in Salvador do Bahia. There are a number of quaint old houses, restaurants and bars in the colonial style, situated on the bay between the continent and the island. Not to be missed when in Floripa.
