Decent hotel, large room, clean, courteous staff. It feels like everyone is trying hard to please but the age of the establishment really shows. The bathroom fixtures are old, as is most of the hotel. Breakfast is adequate, not great. I just spent one night on a business trip, for which the hotel was perfectly acceptable. Free wi-fi.

It was a great hotel but now needs an urgent refurbishment. The furniture is not interesting, the bathrooms are very simple . The breakfast room has no natural light. Breakfast is good.
It still has some glamour of the past. I've been in the hotel 2 times . the first time in a suite on the 12th floor which had a good size, a week later in a room that was small and not comfortable .

Room tip: room on the upper floors have better views

Spent one night here in what was described as a recently refurbished room. The staff were very pleasant but the rooms very basic, beds hard and the banging and knocking from the plumbing at 0230 and 0600 were unwelcome wake up calls. On the positive side the views from the gym/pool on the roof are great and a nice way to wind down at the end of the day. Wifi ranged from painfully slow to nonexistent.

it is about 30 minutes taxi ride from the airport and in the middle of town. The staff and rooms are really quite good, the shower is strong! Breakfast was quite a smorgasbord of fruit, breads, cakes, meats, cheeses with scrambled eggs and hot dogs! WiFi if is fine and included in the price.
If you turn right out of the hotel and walk for about 15 minutes you will be by the town hall and the parks and the river side is nearby. On the left, about 3mins walk, is a supermarket that has the basics- water, beer and chips.

Room tip: Ask for a room with 11 in the number-

From the outside you can see that is an old building. However, when you arrive at the hotel you are welcome by a well-dressed bell man. As you walk in the lobby, you get the impression that you are walking in a luxury hotel in an old building. The staff is very attentive and cordial. The rooms are a different story. I was charged over $200 per night so I was expecting a great room. The carpet was dirty, the air conditioner nob was loose and did not work so I had to open the windows to get some air inside. The bathroom was old and when you flush the toilet, the whole room rumbled. Needless to say, I check out the following day. It was one of the worse hotel room I have ever stayed in. Avoid this hotel at all cost, for $200 a night I'm sure you can stay in a way better hotel specially in Brazil.
