Great food, interesting flavors. Loved the sweet potato and wasabi aioli salad as well as the mango and blue cheese salad. The shrimp with ginger and honey was yummy. The seared sesame encrusted tuna was quite nice as well.

First of all, Pipa is a must see great place.

Now for Tapas. Yes We were so glad to go here, nice cocktails, good, friendly n informal staff. The food is just tip top. Everything with tuna was so good we didn't get the chance to try other things on the menu. We just returned to get some more tuna. Great value for money. We'll get back next december, can't wait

Take what you already know about tapas, put a gourmet twist on it, put another Asian-Brazilian fusion twist on it, and then one last casual-chic stylish twist on it and you'll be getting close. The food is actually pretty serious. But the relaxed setting and service keep things from getting too pretentious. There are menu boards in both English and Portuguese (but no actual menus, so bring your spectacles), although the descriptions sometimes don't do justice to the cuisine. What they call mashed potato is a dollop of potato purée so buttery you'll want to drink it with a straw. Same goes for the passionfruit and caramel sauce that comes with one shrimp dish. Speaking of sweet, you won't see creme brûlée ice cream on the menu (and maybe it was a daily special the night we went), but along with the fudgy brownie served heated with a side of bitter orange caramel sauce, it's one of Pipa's better dessert options. The servers are professional, multi-lingual, and knowledgable about the menu, happy to make recommendations to a cosmopolitan crowd speaking French, Dutch, Spanish, English and Portuguese. Bring your cash; they don't take credit cards.

We had a very good dinner in this restaurant. They sell "tapas" but don't worry. Each plate is about the size of a regular dish. Food was delicious. However, prices are rather high and service was slow. Would go back there again.
