A Brazilian colleague took us there claiming it to be famous for its bbq meat. It certainly was! The meat came in – all you can eat concept – at a decent speed and with good variation. There was a large buffet with a variety of food including roasted veggies and salad which I would suggest to use as as support for the meat. Put the juicy, well flavored though bit salty meat central here especially considering the – in my opinion – rather whopping bill of around 60 euros pro person including maybe one or two drinks. I did not moan though and being stuffed up fairly well left satisfied. Get here only with a serious appetite or negotiate a deal (don’t know if it’s possible) if you’re a veggie.

This is such a typical Brazilian restaurant that you need to visit it. More food than you could ever eat - good cold buffet and continuous meat brought to the table. We thought it would lack atmosphere because it is so big but actually it was great fun and good value.

We went here 2 weeks ago with my wife, as we were on holiday in Rio.
We choose the place due to the good reviews and wanted to experience this type of restaurant.

It took an age for the cab driver to find the place, and upon entering the place, they had cranked up the aircon so much that we were shivering throughout dinner!

So the service, well not one waiter managed a smile and every request seemed to be a huge hassle for them.

The salad bar is varied and really the only plus point, as when the meat arrives it continues to go downhill.

Most beef variants were chewy beyond belief and extremely salty. It was very disappointing. The only decent thing was the lamb.

The prices considering this are extortionate too.

So we paid just over £100 to eat chewy meat, in a freezing restaurant with miserable waiters.

Avoid!

A relaxing "Brazilian" lunch is a must when you are in Brazil. At Porcao you experience the culture while tasting a great variety both at their salad bar and then the meats. The view from the restaurant is hard to beat in Rio de Janeiro on a nice day. The restaurant is conveniently located so on a business day you can get to your meetings or catch a domestic flight to Sao Paulo. Great selection of beverages. Reasonably priced given the quality of food and service.

I have been living near this the Porcão´s Rio´s for six years which means that I have been there many times lastly. At first, it simply was great. The service was wondrous, the view very nice and the meat tasty. Though expensive, you didn´t regret´it. No one that I knew did. Now, the service is simply put worthless ! The price level remain the same and the said churrascaria has switched to a policy of attending to very large groups of Brazilian and foreign tourists so the altogether too vast areas of the restaurant itself are always packed with people. The traditional meat is tasteless. That is when they care to give it to you. The price tag is scandalous ! Don´t go there !
