I cannot recomment this place enough! It was the best dinner we had and the best service we received during the whole stay in Rio plus really cheap. 150R$ for 3 including service, 4 cocktails, main and amazing sausages to start with. Deffinatelly a must location plus it is well located if you want to get a drink afterwards. Picanha was enough to share between three of us and thanks to our waiter warning us when we were about 3 of them.

We popped in here after touring the Botanic Gardens and what a great place to eat! Stylish Cariocas filled the place. We felt welcome too. The waiter will offer you some grilled sausages from a skewer. Take one and you can die happy. I'm not even a sausage lover! We split Picanha (grilled juicy steak cut into strips) between four people and still had leftovers. I usually prefer chicken and even I would recommend you order this steak. This place knows how to cook a steak!
Mal passado (rare)
Um pouco mal passado (med rare)
Ao ponto (medium)
The steak comes with broccoli rice and farofa de ovo, a traditional dish. (flour, salt, butter, eggs and they threw in little bits of banana). This farofa is the best in Rio.
Instead of fries ask for the batatas a portuguesa (thinly cut potatoes).
The draft beer (chopp) was chilly cold and the caipirinha drinks were excellent. (Kind of taste like a lime mojito),
This was the best meal we had in over 12 days in Rio!

Try the picanha with broccoli rice, a must! If you asked for a cold beer you will see why the cariocas are happy!

A friend of ours in Rio suggested we dine here on our first night in Ipanema. It was just a short taxi ride to the less touristy Gávea area and this restaurant is on a corner of Praça Santos Dumont by the race course. It is also close to other bars and eateries that also look interesting.

The large outdoor terrace, as well as the white tiled interior, were packed with mainly young diners but we soon had a table outside. The menu is huge, prices good, and we enjoyed a great meal, starting with plump grilled sausage which slid off skewers at the table and then herbed barbecued chicken with broccoli rice, chips and delicious chopped banana battered with egged farofa (manioc flour), garnished with black olives (R$62 for 2). Our neighbours were tucking into large plates of seafood or meat and the beer was flowing well.

The atmosphere is great and the service excellent and we would certainly recommend this cheerful venue for a great value, good relaxed meal away from most tourists. The adjoining taxi rank ensured a rapid ride back to our hotel.

This is a must go place. You won't find too many tourists. It is close to a university do its full of young people, having a beer, talking.

The best dish, in my opinion, is the "Picanha a Braseiro" It comes straight from the grill together with broccoli rice, banana farofa and fries.

It is delicious!!!

The place is always crowded and maybe you will need to stay to be seated. But it worths the stay and you can drink while wait to be seated.
