“Creative, beautiful, delicious”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

We saw a review of Zuka in Lonely Planet and we were not sure whether to try it or not and then we just stumbled upon it. Great decision to go in! I had the white fish ceviche and the tuna tartar and my friend had something they whipped up for her on the spot (she is vegetarian). All the dishes were amazing! We sat at the kitchen counter and were watching them making all this beautiful food! Loved it!

“One of the few reliable places in Rio”
Reviewed August 28, 2013

Rio does not have a good restaurant scene: most restaurant are expensive and not good value for money.Almost all of them are good in one occasion and when you return you have a totally different experience.....Zuka generally serves good food and with good service even on a Sunday when the restaurant is packed (but I would not choose the bacalao....).

“Absolutely wonderful place to eat with the locals”
Reviewed July 28, 2013

I love Zuka. I first visited this restaurant a few years ago when holidaying in Rio. Couldn't remember where in Leblon the place was or the name but the taxi driver pulled up right in front after I described it in broken Portugese. Tis is a great place to eat - yes, it might be a bit expensive but standard prices for a comparable restaurant in Australia where I come from.

The service was quick and attentive, the waiters so friendly and the food absolutely fantastic. I can't believe the previous reviews are so hard on this place. Rio is full of tourist oriented caves with lousy food but Zuka stands out as a top class restaurant. Give it a try.

“zuka”
Reviewed July 26, 2013

This is a contemporary restaurant with good ambiance and high energy. The food was pasta, fresh fish, meats and interesting deserts. The Brazilian wines were not very good and we changed to a French cabernet. The portions were small and relatively expensive .
The waiters were attentive and most spoke basic English. The rack of lamb and filet mignon were both very good quality, cooked to perfection but small portions.Great deserts, especially the tapioca ice-cream. All in all, a very good restaurant.
