I have been coming to Rio since more than 20 years a few times a year and normally makes at least a stop a Sushi Leblon. The food is great, world class and reasonable in Price. Service is below any good standard and tourists are treated like sh.. by the lady at the door, guided to worst seats. The food is great. Not as good as is used to be. Creativity has reduced and normal dishes are really not exceptional versus other Sushi places. So, order the surprising / extraordinary plates. You will be positively surprised.
I recommend to arrive with attitude and with locals, you will be better treated. The manager seem to be ok and menus are in English as well.
Waiting can be long after 20.30h, so if you do not mind arrive a bit earlier as the regulars and globo friends always slip in easier..
I will continue to go there, but Sushi Leblon has no more the monopoly of high end Japanese in Rio
