Description: QUITÉRIA Located on leafy Rua Maria Quitéria, a cross street off Ipanema beach, the restaurant is specialised in Brazilian dishes that utilises fresh, local and seasonal ingredients, prepared by Chef Alejandra Maidana. The relaxed atmosphere of the restaurant, which was designed by local architect Bel Lobo, is a reference to the Tropical modernism Era, with comfortable chairs by award winning designer Sérgio Rodrigues. The site specific installation created by visual artist Gisele Camargo draws attention to the open plan kitchen, where the dishes are finalised. It is an experience of its own. DRINKS The QUITÉRIA offers a concise but sophisticated wine list, that will pair to your choice of dishes harmoniously. Here you are able to enjoy classic cocktails prepared by our bar attendants, who are masters in classic and signature caipirinhas made with fresh fruits from this season.

Simply fantastic ! Will definetly go back

Quiteria is a cozy restaurant located in the heart of Ipanema, simply and well decorated. Rio is a fantastic place, but good simple Brazilian food is difficult to find here. Quiteria definetly fulfills this niche. We had the market salad and the Acarajé to share, almost fought for each others portion:-)! Then as main dish we choose the maket fish and the grilled octopus, the latter was as good as what we can have in any hidden tavern in a Greek island, made to perfection really. My fish was also delicious, and I normally do not like fish in any restaurant if it is not having my feet in the sand... all that served with a nice bottle of a not that expensive French white wine. For desert the pudim de tapioca... definetly will come back! I really recommend the place.

It was with great enthusiasm that we received the incredible comments made about your recent visit to the QUITERIA.
The restaurant staff appreciates the compliments, both about our service, the quality of ingredients and the creativity of our gastronomic creations.
Our new menu designed by the executive chef Alejandra Maidana has a more conscious, sustainable and fresh menu proposal. For this we are working with local producers, organic products and the least industrialized possible, to always have fresh and healthy ingredients! The idea is to guarantee a gastronomic experience, very Brazilian and uncomplicated, but with unforgettable flavors!
It is a great pleasure to know that our menu has pleased and thank you immensely for the rich description of the dishes served. We are delighted with the adjectives you use when describing the dishes.

Loved it

I stayed at the Ipanema Inn hotel so had breakfast here every day - very generous with fresh fruit, juices, made to order eggs. I also came back sometimes for lunch, drinks or dinner. It looks cool with designer chairs & lights, and had a relaxing atmosphere, about half a block back from the beach. Nice bar snacks & drinks and a more formal menu with a Brazilian / contemporary twist. Friendly & cheerful staff, most of whom spoke excellent English. Some highlights were the caipirinhas, prawn rice, prawn dumplings and a great chocolate mousse. Recommended.

Very good food.

We spend our Last evening in rio de janero in this lovely restaurant. We loved the atmosphere and the food was special and tasty. The service was especially nice

Tasty, Brazilian Cuisine. Modern influences

I had very forward thinking grilled octopus over a mash of local root vegetables. The octopus was perfect; complimented by the vegetables.

My wife had the ribs, which were also tasty, but in her case the root vegetables was a bit gummy/slimy. Had a not unpleasant, different flavor.

The restaurant offered Caipihanas in three versions. The mango was very tasty, but he thick pulp made it somewhat difficult to drink. The original version was a bit too limey, without enough sugar. OK

This restaurant had US city prices. While the food was very good, you don’t need to pay these prices for this quality.

Contemporary character with a Brazilian soul.

This restaurant has a ton of contemporary but unmistakably Brazilian character. That was the attraction for me. The staff is youthful and energetic in sync with the decor. Diners are also mostly youthful.

The menu is Brazilian fare. I had breakfast in the restaurant twice and dinner once whilst staying in a hotel nearby. I found all of my meals to be yummy, one level down from stellar and the service to be very good, one level down from outstanding. For the price I found it to be great which is why I kept returning.

For breakfast, there is a full buffet of fresh fruits, yoghurt, sliced cured and roasted meats, cheese, breads. There is also an a-la-carte menu card that makes available things like a Brazilian twist on gluten free pancakes.

There are creative takes on stews on the dinner menu alongside creative takes on salads.

Outdoor seating is available. The atmosphere is louder for dinner than it is for breakfast.

I definitely recommend.
