We arrived at Fasano with very high expectations after having read several reviews and heard from friends who had stayed at the hotel, and they were exceeded by far.

The service you get is absolutely top notch, from the moment you set foot at the hotel until the time you leave.

Staff go the extra mile (and beyond) to make you feel comfortable. We had dinner twice at the hotel and on the second night both waiters who had looked after us the day before remembered us - a very nice gesture that makes the treatment you get much more personalised.

The concierge also arranged for us to go to Corcovado and Sugarloaf mountain - we just let them know when we wanted to go and they arranged everything for us.

Location - the pool is simply amazing, the sunsets are something really worth seeing overlooking Ipanema beach.

Overall, really a 5 star hotel, cannot stress enough how professional and excellent the staff at the hotel is.

I flew in the Rio for the weekend while on a business trip to Sao Paulo. Stayed at the Fasano Hotel which is probably the nicest hotel I've been in. Very posh and modern design. Every staff member was so pleasant and accommodating. I had a little hiccup when they had a system issue and gave another guest my room, but they were very nice and sent me free drinks and gave me a very late check out. This actually has happened to me in Sao Paulo at the intercontinental, but they weren't compared to the service I had at Fasano. I will definitely stay at Fasano again the next time I'm in Rio.

We stayed one night at the conclusion of a cruise and during that short stay, the Fasano staff managed to astonish us with truly great service. Some, such as early check-in when we arrived mid-morning, benefited from circumstances (the room was available), but when our traveling companions arrived from another hotel early in the evening, the front desk suggested that we'd enjoy drinks at the roof pool bar, with its fabulous view, normally open only to hotel guests. The next day, we were departing on a late flight, and were scheduled to leave the hotel at 7pm, and they offered a 4pm late checkout, which we appreciated; however, when we settled in the lobby at 4pm with our iPads, a front desk person came over, said we should return to our room until it was time to leave and returned our hand luggage to the room (they hadn't realized until then how late we needed to leave). The housekeeping staff was equally amazing. We've traveled very extensively and stayed in countless world class hotels; none has impressed us more than the Fasano for astonishingly great service.
