We wanted to experience the different sides of Rio during our stay, so we spent two nights at a beautiful B&B in Santa Teresa and two nights here, near Copacabana beach.

The room was average (we didn't have a view or anything) but clean and quiet. The people on the desk, and the porters and the waiting staff, were always absolutely polite and lovely. The location was great and we always felt safe. Breakfast was wonderful!

If you're looking for a good value option in Copacabana, I would definitely recommend this one.

I am on a 3 month trip around some of the world and we started off here in the Windsor Martinque. Perfect location for the Copa beach rooms were nice not too big. Buffet breakfast was just lovely there was such a hugh choice I was very happy!! Staff are lovely, only problem I would point out is we were given a room at the back of the hotel the view was less then plesent as it was just onlooking backs of apartments. Room 320 so I wud ensure you get a room with a view if you can. No WiFi was a big problem for me we had to get a cable to hook up netbook to wall to get any internet. Overall experience very positive.

This was a really friendly place, where they tried to book us a few things around the town to do. Really hearty breakfasts set us up for the day and the location is 2 mins walk from the beach/restaurants.
Great value.

We stayed in Hotel Martininque for a few days in July which was the beginning of a 10 week trip. All in all the hotel was very good value for money considering that most Hotels at Copacabana are quite expensive. The location of the hotel is excellent- it is on a side street off Ave Atlantico and fairly close to Ipanema.

The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. In particular Claudio and Flavia stood out as very friendly and helpful especially with tips for restaurants and tours etc.

The breakfast was pretty good- not the best in the world, but very clean, plentiful and a decent choice of hot and cold breakfast foods.

The only clear negative about this hotel is that the decor and rooms is a little dated. It could do with an update.

If I stayed in Rio again I would probably prefer to stay around Ipanema, since it is a much nicer beach and most of the good restaurants are in that area. Having said that, for value for money, this hotel is a good choice.

Here's everything I would want to know before I went:
A bit chilly, windy and rainy this time of year, but the next day could be just fine and sunny. We were a group of seven and from the airport(GIG) we took a shuttle from a guy named Jorge who confronted us ( I'm glad it worked out)R$140. Most all the staff speak English. Some rooms have a window that face the ocean but its down the street some. The rooms are clean with marble and granite but very small(I dont really see that as a down side). The wall outlets are 110volts, they will provide converters if needed. The breakfast is a free buffet with bacon, eggs, waffles, breads, coffee and juices. Money Exchange right next to hotel with better rates than airport!
A majority of the restaurants are pizza. The restaurant across the street (Napolis) was the best Italian R$24-30. Pizza rodizio(buffet) at Solario R$25. Pretty sad but the best was Pizza Hut between Copa and Impanema R$35 Large pizza. Eat Arab food for R$24. Churrascaria Buffets. Galetos restaurant has free WiFi and the hotel does not. It was the only place I could find so I would stand outside and get online everyday. Plenty of internet cafes.
The streets behind the hotel are full of little juice, grocery, clothing and souvenir shops.
We had the hotel book our 2 hour Favella tour that a local walks you through the largest favella in Latin America R$85per person. We did not feel threatened at all. It is not recommended to go to any favella by yourself especially at night.
Hotel also booked us a shuttle for eight hours anywhere we wanted to go on our last day R$500. Ended up beingR$600 because we wanted him to drop us off at the hotel. An additional R$25 because we had him drive us up corcovado mountain once unnecessarily. Do not let them nickle and dime you. We ended up going to Christ the Redeemer R$24(if a van takes you up the mountain), Sugarloaf Mountain R$44, Downtown Lapa and dinner in Copa. The Copa beach is barren during the week and lively on the weekend.
Sometimes there is a fee(US$30) to leave the country but check if your airline already included it in the price of ticket. Once your in security you can bring food and drink on the plane.

Nice hotel, a block from Copacabana beach and walking distance from Arpoador beach, with nice breakfast and friendly staff. Standard rooms are a little bit small and no sea view and the pool is small also, but the price and location are great.

We moved to this hotel after staying at a resort hotel with a large group. The rooms are not luxurious, but we certainly found it to be comfortable, very clean and the location is PERFECT. One block from the beach, right in the action. The neighborhood is very safe and we felt comfortable walking around any time of day or night. Around the corner is a fantastic pizza place that you must try - It's all about Food. There is a supermarket for food & drinks at the end of the block and terrific market out on the beach strip for all your souvenir needs for better prices than we found anywhere else. Also, the free internet access was a great perk for keeping in touch with home. Very friendly staff that spoke wonderful English - super helpful. And the breakfast buffet was delish!
Have to mention the tiny elevators. Room for 4 people touching, or you and your 2 suitcases. We took the stairs :)
