This hotel is perfect for those seeking something conveniently located, clean and - relatively speaking - not as expensive as other options. Reading back through some other comments there seem to be some mixed reviews but for me: Internet works fine in my room, the room is clean if pretty basic (but you are in Rio... So I guess you want to be out looking around not sat inside) the bathroom is good / shower great - you are literally 1min from the beach, the bfast was decent too - fresh fruit, meats, cheese, pastries etc with coffee.. Staff have been helpful and polite. Would recommend to anyone wanting a base in Rio from which to launch an assault on this great city.

It was nice but the rooms were quite small but pretty clean. One night I ordered room service and after I ate there was a huge cockroach that came from under the bed, that freaked me out. The breakfast was good and the staff were polite and spoke good english. To get wifi, you have to be in the lobby as it is not available anywhere else in the hotel. Overall it was nice especially since you don't spend all your time in a hotel!

Hotel is nice, rooms are smaller than regular rooms. The location is convenient (one block from Copacabana Beach and decent walking distance to Ipanema), the hotel is clean, the staff friendly and helpful.

We (the Mrs. and me) stayed at this hotel twice- at the beginning and end of our 5 week trip to Brazil.

As a general note- hotel prices in Rio are ridiculous! pretty much a London/NY price. a decent hotel room in Rio for a couple starts at 170 USD a night...

After surveying the market for quite some time, we decided to go with this hotel, since the price was reasonable (relatively) and his location was pretty good:
- 3 minutes walk from Copacabana beach
- walking distance from Ipanema beach
- right next to a pretty cool open evening market (right next to Posto 5)

the staff are very friendly, and speak very good English. the hotel holds coupons for various Rio activities, and if there exists something the don't know of, they take the time and find all there is to know about it for you.
Breakfast is very good!
location is awesome. apart for the reasons mentioned above, you also have an ATM very close by, lots of taxis await just at the end of the street, and there is a store right next door that has a crazy selection of Havayanas :-)

the rooms are very standard for this kind of hotels, and are kept very clean. since we were travelling on our honeymoon, they also upgraded us to a better room (bigger).

I'm sure there are fancier hotels as well as much cheaper ones. however, if you do want a well located hotel, but don't plan on spending half of your day inside your room, this hotel is a very good choice of you.

The hotel was ok, nothing to get excited about, but not bad either.
Prices kind of high but the location is excellent. Walking distance to ipanema an copa cabana.
Very clean rooms. I would visit again. Rio is just gorgeous...

A nice hotel in Copa - not spectacular, but solid for a decent value in an area where value is hard to find... Staff were pleasant and helpful - some good english spoken... We didn't see the pool - only there for one day... Rooms were clean and of a decent size... Very clean - the room floors smelled like a brand new toy, which could bother some... Ease up on the cleaning fluid... Copa is an older 'hood so it's not shiny and new... We liked it for a place to stay... Great location, 1/2 block from beach and close to Ipanema, about 10 mins slow walk...

We stayed two nights in September 2012. It best point is it's better value than other hotels that are almost on the beach at Copacabana. The breakfasts were also good, and it's quiet. On the minus side: it could do with a lick of paint here and there, but that's just a quibble, because it's clean and the staff are friendly. Take the hotels R80 taxi ride to the airport, as it is the cheapest you'll find.
