“Awesome view of Rio”
Reviewed November 17, 2013 via mobile

Best way to go up is by the tram. The vans take forever and not so comfy. Awesome view of the city and the statue itself is magnificent. Very good photo opp.

“More than I expected”
Reviewed November 17, 2013

I really was expected it to be just another tourist attraction while in Brazil. We wend in the late afternoon and took the train up from corcovado which was nice. You see some nice vistas, just make sure you sit on the right hand side (on the way up you sit facing the back of the train). Once you get to the Statue you can walk up the flights of stairs which give you really great views of Rio but might be a challenge if you are out of shape or when you get off the train, if you go to the left, there are escalators that take you to the top. The view of the statue were awesome and it's the highest point of the city. You can see all the beaches and many of the favelas. Since the statue is so tall, you will need a wide angle camera lens or like most visitors, lay on the ground. If you want to get a unique shot then about 15 feet from the base of the statue, set your timer on your camera and set in on the ground, then position yourself to be in the shot. It will take a few tries but it's worth the effort and you don't have to worry about other tourists in your photo.

“Crowded cloudy day”
Reviewed November 16, 2013

Arrived early in the day (9 AM) not a long wait and tram not crowded. Ride up is thru the woods with only minimal views of the city. Passed one downhill tram. Saw monkeys at the top. Impressive views from the statue of the city including Sugar Loaf as well as the west city. Missed the non crowded picture of the statue since the stairs get real crowded. Small chapel in the base of the statue. Definitely not to be missed.

“Hope for good weather”
Reviewed November 15, 2013

This is a must in Rio. The views are spectacular if the weather is good. The weather does change by the minute, so if it is reasonably nice just stay until come clouds pass by. The statue is also worth seeing close up.
