“Highlight of Rio”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 17, 2013

Has to be done and worth it! If you get good weather then its an amazing experience.

If you use a guide / tour company get a reputable one; more expensive but takes a lot of the hassle out of the trip and increases the enjoyment.

This is a very popular sight so be prepared for crowds.

One downside is the amount of litter people just discard carelessly - why?

“Worth the climb no matter your faith”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 16, 2013

It's a trek to get to this near 100-foot tall Art Deco statue of Christ atop the tallest mountain in the city involving taxi, van and a lot of stairs. The art work is impressive but it's also fun to watch tourists lying on the ground in order to fit in their loved ones along with the giant Jesus.

“A must when in Rio”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 16, 2013

The Statue is majestic and the views are breath taking. Even though there is a fee to get up there, it is worth every penny. Take the train to get there, not a cab nor a van, because they are pricier and you will miss part of the experience.

“An amazing experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 16, 2013

This is my second time in Rio, the first one being when I was a kid. So we planed on going to the Corcovado, just because you can't miss it if you are in Rio. Now, I would recommend to take the train and not a cab or a van. Why? Just because the little train is fun and part of the experience. Additionally, its not a cheap ride, but its worth every penny. You can buy the tickets on line also.

I kind of forgot how majestic the statue of Christ is, its just breathtaking. The views of the city and the beach are amazing as well.

If you visit Rio, I would say skip the Sugar Loaf Mountain and go to the Corcovado.

“Amazing view of the city”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 16, 2013

If the weather is nice and there's no fog you can enjoy an amazing view of the city and relax for a coffee, absolutely gorgeous, you can spend hours in there if you're not on a schedule.
